Now you don’t need to choose: RiverRide is a special sightseeing tour on which you can see the sights of Budapest from a comfortable seat, first along its busy streets, and then, from one second to the next – to the gasps of some of your fellow travellers – you splash into the lapping water of the river. « less

“An excellent, exciting, imaginative way to explore Budapest on land and water”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 August 2011

I have just returned to England from Budapest and would like to recommend Riverride, the amphibious tourist bus as an excellent sightseeing tour on land and water. The tour starts from the Pest end of Chain Bridge (the one designed by Scotsman Adam Clark). It starts by giving you a good introduction to sights on the Pest side of the city and then continues on the river Danube, giving a wonderful view of the city. This is the first amphibious tourist bus on the Continent and I recommend strongly that you give ti a go at the start of your visit to this beautiful city. - The tourist guide on the bus was very knowledgeable and witty at times. - You find details on www.riverride.hu and you might like to look on YouTube as well, such as http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQIadebptgU&feature=iv&annotation_id=annotation_328107 .

“Can this bus swim???”

I was in Budapest beginning of August. I visited the house of Parliament, and walked through the city center. On the way I came across with the strange-faced, yellow bus standing on the Szechenyi square. We decided to try it next morning, we were lucky, we got place and the weather was fantastic. So we took the almost two hours trip, and it was worth the money and time!
We drove through among the nice buildings of Pest side, the guide explained the history of the city in a very clear, friendly way.
Then the main attraction: the splash! It was a strange but great feeling: swimming on the river Danube with the same bus we were riding through the streets! And seeing the many tourists taking photos of our bus and waving to us!
It is really a great idea and I can recommend it, the bus really can swim!!!

“Special ride.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 August 2011

we heard for this special bus, which goes also into a river and we knew that we have to try. We bought tickets and went on board - all the people around the town are starring into this strange bus, which is floating down the river. It was nice experience, just the ride back on the river is sooooo long. For sure I would recommend it to anyone, who is prepared to pay that money for a special experience.

“nice but very pricey”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 July 2011

we were one adult and 3 kids (5,7,12). they were very exited about the whole idea. After all this is a tourist bus, so it goes in the city to the main sights and then go into the water.
Entering the water was exiting, but then the kids got bored. it floats quite a long time in the water till it gets out.

Overall it is a nice experience, but very pricey in my point of view (7500 HUF for adult and 5000 HUF for kids above 6). the whole trip takes around 2 hours.

“Must have seen city trip”

If you are visiting Budapest, you have to take a ride with the "River-Ride".
First you enter a normal bus, but after 45 Minutes, the bus drives into the river Donau
and continues the trip as a boat on water !
Extraordinary experience and the Tourist-Guide speaks several languages fluently.
In our case, we were asked for the preferred language, and so the Guide talked to
us in German, English and Hungarian accent-free.
The information given to us was very good with a lot of interesting background
information too.
Thumbs up.
