This is the place where all tourists go but you will also meet locals there. It's a major fruit/vegetable market. And they also have something for tourists: souvenirs, ground and dried peppers, different kinds of salami and cheeses. For the real feeling go to the top floor to try some Hungarian food. It's quite greasy and hard to digest but it will give the real feeling of Budapest :-) You can also try palinka - Hungarian vodka - to help you with the food. The market is closed on Sundays.
