Every time we've been in Budapest we've gone to Rivalda. They offer more than traditional Hungarian food, looking for a modern approach, and the result is very good.
Service is helpful and kind, their advices and suggestions always are interesting. They are really flexible: last time one of us ordered the Seasonal Menu with wine, while the others shared some starters and main courses ... not really to manage, but they did it without any problem.
It's better to be really hungry when going there, if not order only one dish.
Wide wine list, maybe a little overpriced.
This last time there was life music, a good idea but a little noisy, we had to ask to low volume to be able to have a normal conversation.
