Good hotel for the price - rooms small but comfortable - breakfast average.

Hotel has Sauna, but this is NOT FREE - it is part attached to a function room, and you have to pre-book the whole facility, cost c. £25 which is OK for a group of you. Better isKalev Spa water park, attached to Kalev Spa hotel, 10 minutes walk, on edge of old town - cost £3, and has sauna and steam rooms as part of the pool complex, and also single sex saunas in changing rooms - this is free with Tallinn card. The card is worth getting if you plan to do the "Tallinn official Sightseeing Tour", which picks up 1 minute walk from hotel - otherwise just get a pass for public transport for the number of days you are there.

No 2 bus takes you from airport to hotel - hotel is at Passenger Terminal and is the last stop. No 2 bus takes you from hotel to Viru KKeskus(shopping centre - attached to Sokus Viru Hotel, which is a very visible landmark and therefore easy to find). No 20 takes you to edge of old town, at the botom of Viru. Coming back, didnt find No 20 stop, but No 2 stop is outside Viru Keskus on A. Laikmaa.

February is very cold, and with evening temperatures -15c at night, almost too cold to go out, and daytime up to only -9c on one day. although got to -2c on last day (phew- what a scorcher!!!!)

Please conact if you want any further info

We stayed here in February 07 for 3 nights and we were very pleased with the hotel. It cost us about £23 per night for a double room which we thought was very reasonable.

The hotel has a retro theme and has pictures of past and present music stars on the walls, and a very 70's style cafe/restuarant. It is is meant this way and it feels kinda funky! A very pleasent atmosphere in the restuarant too, and the food to match - very nice.

The staff were friendly although they never smiled (Maybe because it was so cold when we went, about -10C), but they were helpful when needed and didn't mind calling our taxis for us.

The hotel has free internet access and I believe it also has Wifi too so if you have wireless connections on your laptop or palm top you can connect in the comfort of the lounge area and surf all night.

Rooms were pretty basic but adequate and did have a small tv with satelite. A nice spacious bathroom with a good shower and again, a funky feel to the whole room. We had a large modern picture on the wall of Billy Holiday.

Overall, I would defintely recommend this hotel to anyone as it close to the shipping port, the bus stop and only about a 10 min walk from the old town. A very pleasant stay and I would return there anyday if I were to return to Tallinn. 8.5 out of 10 :-)

I spent two nights at the City Portus over a weekend in mid July. The hotel is conveniently located right by the ferry terminal, perfect for those travelling by boat, or planning a day trip to Helsinki, which was my case. However, being right at the end of the harbour complex, the hotel feels somewhat remote and isolated, even when the Old Town is just a 15 to 20 minute walk.

My room was a generous size, very funky, if rather basic, with a comfortable double bed, and a spacious shower room. No air con though, probably not a problem any other time of the year, but during my stay right in the middle of summer, with a window that only opened a couple of inches, the room felt uncomfortably warm and stuffy at times.

Buffet breakfast was a bit limited, but perfectly adequate, served in the cafe on the ground floor, unfortunately too small to cope with the large groups the hotel accommodates, at least on summer weekends. Still, nice to seat outside in the sun terrace, sipping your tea or coffee away, watching the ferries in and out.

“great budget hotel!”

We had a pleasure to stay at this nice hotel during our recent visit to Tallinn, Estonia. The place is very clean, friendly and nicely decorated with music business themes. (Posters for rock stars in each room and hallway etc.) The staff was pleasant and very helpful. You can't go wrong on the complementary breakfast! There is something for everyone and it's fresh and hot if you need it. The biggest impression for us was the lobby. It's spacious, bright and has plenty of room to rest and kick back after the long trip. The bar is fully equipped with the friendly atmosphere. The best part is the background music! They play all 80's rock and disco hits! I wish the Hotel Soundtrack were available to buy J. The old town is located within 15-20 min of walking distance. Not the best if you don't like to walk, but for those who don't mind it's a chance to walk along the piers and check out the big ferry ships!

I recommend this place especially if you are young or don’t require much service. The rooms are big enough for 3-4 people. Each has a TV, clean and spacious bathroom, and clean bed. At least that is all we needed. For those who need Internet – no problem! The hotel lobby has a free connection and you can stay in touch with your friends.

By the way, Tallinn ROCKS!
Cheers!

“Good, Rock&roll”

nice and clean hotel with very reasonable rates (we paid 38euro for a double room per night!). its got a cool interieur (60's design) and the theme is rock&roll. you have a free internet access computer in the lobby. most of the guests and the hotel are younger people. to the city centre it's a 15min. walk.
hotel has a nice pizza-restaurant and offers a good breakfast buffet.
all in all you can't expect luxury, but it's fun staying there...
