Having gotten married at Victoria House 8 years ago and having visited multiple times since, we decided to celebrate my 40th birthday with a dozen friends at VH. We rented two of the beach-front houses (Casa Azul and Casa Playa Blanca) for a long weekend. We got there right after the seasonal shut-down and the place looked amazing. The staff was as warm, fun, gracious, and attentive as ever.

Over the years my friends have heard my wife and I talk about Belize and Victoria House -- and they finally got the chance to see for themselves. My friends loved the fishing, the snorkeling, the pool time, and just relaxing. We were able to show them a more personal side of San Pedro -- the hole-in-the-wall restaurants we've come to love over the years, the furniture shop who built most of our patio furniture, and our friends at various places around town. The real highlight, however, was Victoria House. We all enjoyed "checking on the Admiral" (visiting the Admiral Nelson Bar), lounging at the mini infinity pool at Casa Playa Blanca (which came to be known as the "minfinity" pool), the wonderful food, and the amazing staff. I cannot recommend Victoria House more highly for couples and groups looking for a relaxing, authentic experience in paradise.

We'd never heard of Victoria House until a family member decided to be married there. If you enjoy the huge, bustling, "wear an armband to charge things", Victoria House is probably not for you, but it's definitely for us and we'll be back again, bringing friends and family.
We have traveled extensively and I can say with certainty that the V.H. staff are the nicest and warmest people we've ever encountered.
We stayed 5 nights, and could have stayed longer if time had allowed. My husband dives, but decided not to on this trip just because we wanted to simply relax, but from what we've heard, the area is one of the top rated dive locations in the world.
The food was out of this world. We've stayed in Rosewood, Four Seasons, and Ritz hotels where the food hasn't consistently been as good as what Victoria House produces.
We stayed in a thatched roof Casita and enjoyed it immensely. Not having a television or a phone in our room has never bothered us, yet we did have wi-fi to communicate by email, and our phones had service with International Long Distance. We had family and friends that stayed in the larger houses, yet we were very happy with our casita.
The beach is beautiful, however, there are many seagrass beds in the water. Evidently these play a large roll in protecting the whole ecosystem involving the 2nd longest barrier reef in the world, which is off the coast of Ambergris Caye, and can be seen from the hotel. It's a snorkelers paradise with this reef. All this being said - you don't just jump in the beach and play around like you would at other resorts. However, we did spend a lot of time on the beach during the day and evenings.
You don't have to exchange any if you're from the US, they'll take our dollars.
Don't leave without getting one of Ceci's massages! I had 3 in 5 days - it was that good!
We'll be back!

I stayed at Victoria House for a week during my honeymoon trip. When I called to confirm my reservation I said I was on my honey moon and asked if we could get a room with a good view. Not only did we get a good view, the hotel upgraded our room and gave us a complimentary bottle of chamagne when we arrived. The staff was very attentive and friendly, The rooms were very nice and romantic, their was no TV, Radio or phone to which I say Amen! I don't feel the hotel is the best place for children as most people we met were on honeymoons and looking for a quiet romantic getaway. You can charge everything from food and drinks to your airfare to your guest folio to be paid when you leave the hotel. Which is very nice so you can use cash in the town. Each room had a mini bar and safe to keep your valuables. I will be staying here again the next ime I come to Belize.

We stayed here on the second half of our honeymoon and it was a honeymoon paradise! We went during low season and there weren't many people there. The food and drink are a bit expensive but very good. The walk into town isn't too far -- definitely worth it if you're looking for a little variety with the food. The staff is very friendly and always willing to help. All around a great honeymoon spot!

Beautiful, romantic, peaceful....and if you´re looking for adventure this is the place to be. The only bad thing is that, they don´t have phones, so if you want room service, you´ll have to get yourself!
