My husband and I selected Matachica for our honeymoon on a whim based on other reviews we read. It was the best choice we could have made and Matachica lived up to ever expectation and far exceeded them. It was quiet and private yet we felt as if the staff were close friends of ours that we had not seen in ages. The food was incredible and the beachfront casita was worth it!
We slept with the sound of the waves crashing and although we went on some excursions, we were very happy just to be relaxing by the ocean for the day. We were looking for a small resort that could allow us to break away from our hectic daily lives and from wedding planning and we got it!

This was our second stay at Matachica! It felt like coming home. Perfect and beautiful in every way. Exceptional staff, restaurant and resort. Paradise found...again! Need I say more?

We had a great time and could not ask for more.
The package we had was a deal considering the location, cleanliness, great food and staff.
Easy to catch a ride on the Matachica boat to town for a change of pace and always nice to return to our cabana "banana"

Ok the resort is nice, very nice. The Cabana's are clean and pretty, service is ok, but the food, ooooh the food.... We selected this resort because of the raving critiques on the website about the food. We discovered however that those were written a long time ago. We gave the Mambo 2 shots (dinner and lunch) and it sucked brutally both times! It is all ready made food that comes out of a freezer gets shoved in the microwave and after you hear 'pling" out comes your food! When for instance I asked for vanilla ice in my desert instead of coconut (which they had on the menu in a different dessert) the answer was: "sorry, we can't it is ready made..." Places to go to eat? Really there's only 1: Wild Mango's.

We just got married over Memorial Day at Matachica Resort on Ambergris Caye in Belize.

My wife I and (fiance at the time) personally visited literally every single upscale resort on the island, and nothing compared to Matachica. The decision to hold our wedding there was an easy one.

Words cannot convey how amazing the entire week was. We had a total of 35 guests with us, and we basically took over the resort for the better part of a week. Burga, the resort manager, was incredibly attentive and delightful to work with. She made sure that every single last detail was perfect.

The meals, accommodations, setting, and ambiance the entire week was amazing. But what made the entire week so wonderful was the staff. Everyone working at the resort was warm and went out of their way to ensure that our entire group had the time of our lives.

If anyone out there is looking to have a relatively small (25-45) destination wedding in a gorgeous, secluded, tropical place, I highly recommend this wonderful resort.
