This is a great hotel -- the location is unbeatable. We walked from the airstrip. It's in the middle of town so you can walk anywhere - there a grocery store nearby and it's next door to Ramon's which has the best beach in San Pedro.

We stayed in the poolside casita for 4 nights and it was perfect. There was a bedroom, a living and a small kitchenette. The place was really clean and super comfortable. There is a tv in the living and the bedroom The fact it was right in front of the pool was perfect. We felt like we had the pool all to ourselves.

The front desk was very helpful - they booked us a half day snorkeling trip which was the highlight of the trip. We got to swim with sharks!

You can buy gallons of water and coffee from the front desk which is actually a way better deal than buying from the store.

I loved this hotel and I would stay here again!

Just returned from our 4th trip to San Pedro, our third stay at the Palms. This time we had the entire family with us--a total of 12, including 2 children. We almost took over the third floor, using 3 of the 4 suites there. The Palms is consistently clean, cheerful, well furnished, and has an exceptional staff. Ana at the front desk helped with many logistical problems of having so many varied ages and interests. The trip to Lamanai was complicated by one pregnant daughter and another who was not tolerating the boat rides well. Ana made it all happen! Amazing. (Some last minute flights were involved.) She also suggested Rojo for dinner one night--a wonderful experience.

We had considered a golf cart for the week, especially for groceries, but decided against it. Simon at Lagnaippe did his usual wonderful job of provisioning our condos, and the Palms is so close to everything there is really no need for a cart unless you want to explore the north. Ana supplied us with more water towards the end of the week (amazing how much water 12 people can drink in a week.) We took a taxi home one night from El Divino, and otherwise walked to all the restaurants, shops, bars, etc.

My granddaughters loved the pool at the Palms, and even made a couple of friends. They both learned to snorkel there, then tried out the ocean at Ramon's, next door. From there they went on a snorkel tour to Hol Chan and Shark Ray Alley. All the rooms were great, with a wonderful view from the veranda. It is interesting to see how differently they are furnished.

Already planning the next trip, and of course we will stay at the Palms again. Thanks Ana and everyone else for another fantastic stay.

My husband and I just returned from 5 nights at the Palms. I cannot say enough good things about this place. We stayed in a one bedroom on the bottom floor. The place was huge and in all truth more than we needed. The kitchen allowed us to keep our costs down by having lunch and breakfast in most days. Ambergris is fairly expensive, so that was great. Our porch litterally opened up to the sand and the water was only a few steps away. The advantages of this place is it seems very upscale and well groomed compared to many places we saw, the location is great....close enough to town to easily walk, yet fare enough away to relax. Plus, they are located next to Ramons which had some of the only walk in swiming that I saw on the whole island. I highly recommend this place. Go in off season....the island never seemed crowded to us.

Recently returned from 6 days at The Palms Oceanfront Suites. We initially stayed 2 weeks in Placencia (southern Belize) visiting family and after many previous visits there wanted to experience another part of Belize. While searching the internet for accommodations in San Pedro we were a little concerned of the lack of numerous previous reviews of The Palms. We now understand why few are written. Guests want to keep the place “their little secret” so accommodations for future visits will be easier to secure. Their website does not at all compliment the facility as well as it should. This goes along with the general humble and helpful caring consistently offered by all the staff. They too are great!

We had our family from Placencia stay with us the first 3 days so we booked a 2-bedroom, 2-bath condo (Oceanside, top-floor) and were pleasantly surprised. The room was fantastic! Spacious, clean, well appointed and a picture perfect view. The units are each individually owned and decorated accordingly. You quickly gain an appreciation that this is a home rather than an accommodation.

The remaining days the two of us moved to a 1 bedroom unit on the main floor looking directly onto the beach. Far enough away so that you are not constantly stared at yet close enough to feel the surroundings of the beach. It was here that we met a few of the other guests of The Palms. All were wonderful people with equally great experiences of the surroundings.

The location is fantastic. Close enough to walk into the town on a whim yet far enough away to feel some seclusion. While we did rent a golf cart for a day of exploring the novelty quickly wore off. I suspect most of the sights to be seen on land are in the immediate vicinity. We walked the beach many times and checked out other resorts. We wouldn’t have traded our accommodations for any of the others. The fresh water pool is tranquil. Surrounded by lush gardens it truly is an oasis.

While we had some meals in our Suite we primarily ate at many of the surrounding restaurants. Not once were we disappointed. Okay, maybe once but that was at one of the local resorts that gave us a feel of any other large North American resort and charged accordingly. Don’t be afraid of going off the beaten path for your dining experience. As in other parts of Belize the food and preparation of it is not to be of concern. Most are casual experiences yet still offer the quality of the many fine dining restaurants.

On our return trip to San Pedro we will only stay at The Palms Oceanfront Suites. Please remember, this is our little secret!
