My 16 year-old son and I recently enjoyed the zip-line and cave-tubing combo with Explore Belize Caves while we were on a Royal Caribbean cruise. I booked with Dennis and his company based on previous tripadvisor reviews, and we were definitely not disappointed! I reserved the tour with Dennis through his website. He immediately emailed and then called me to confirm. The cruise ship charged $40 more per person for the same excursion, and the many passengers were herded onto a bus. We, on the other hand, were met personally by Dennis and his assistant Luis. After waiting a while for the other six people from our ship who had booked with him, Dennis sent us on with Luis while he continued to wait at the terminal for the others. My son and I had a fantastic, personalized experience with Luis, who told us a lot about the country and his own life. We "zipped" right by the long line of folks waiting with the other cruise passengers for the zip line, and Luis did a great job of taking us through the caves. Afterwards, we stopped for a delicious and inexpensive lunch. We were back in plenty of time to get to the ship. RCCL tip: You CAN get on an early tender if you have a tour booked, even if it isn't through the cruise ship. Just take your email confirmation from Dennis and get in line--you don't need a special tender ticket. I highly recommend that you choose Explore Belize Caves!

“One of the highlights of our cruise trip”

I recently booked an excursion with Explore Belize Caves on April 1st with Dennis and he was very professional and great to work with. He was very responsive via e-mail and even called me to answer some questions I had. I had read his reviews on Trip Advisor and his company stood out to us as the best and we are glad we went with him.

We were on the NCL Sun and we met him at Terminal fairly easily. While we were waiting on a few other folks, Luis took us on a quick driving tour of Belize. After we had eveyone we venured about an hour in to the mountains. Dennis had some great stories and Mayan folklore on the way up.

At the tubing site, Luis then took as on an awesome hike through the jungle -- about 45 minutes. He was an outstanding guide, growing up about a mile away and was very personable and had a good sense of humor. He pointed out various flora and fauna including wild pinapples, bananas and other plants and trees. He also took us in a cave where we saw some bats.

When we reached the river to begin tubing, he tied our four tubes together. There was only us and another couple. This was another awesome thing about EBC-- there were only four of us and Luis; no big cruise groups and we had Luis as our personal guide. Going through the first cave was very quiet and peaceful. At the second cave we rean in to the cruise ship tour of about 20 people set loose on there tubes not knowing what to do or how to go. It was great to be a part of the EBC group as we cruised thourgh the cruise group. In the second cave we hit some rapids and saw a waterfall.

It was a great experience. In the end we did not get time for lunch, but it was all fine. We made it back to our ship no problem.

I highly recommend Dennis and Luis with EBC.

Dennis Perez was waiting for my wife, I and two other couples just as he said he would at the dock. Dennis's English is perfect and he's extremely courteous. After our cave tubing, he gave us complimentary sodas and beer then we drove to a local restaurant and had a simple tasty inexpensive lunch, (well worth the little extra he charges). We arrived back to the dock on time. All in our party were pleased with his hassle free trip.
Hats off to Dennis, you did a great job. Well worth every penny.

8 of us on 3/19/08 met Dennis at the Terminal as discussed via phone and e-mails. We booked this excursion not through Royal Caribbean, Jewel of the Seas but on line,

Oh how can you do that, look this is another Country and they will steal your credit card #, they may take you to the jungle and leave you there to rot, only book with the cruise line, yes it's more money because they are better.

Any one with the above beliefs should book with the cruise line.
Anyone who wants to have the best excursion, do the unthinkable and book with Dennis on-line.

Dennis and Edgar met us at the terminal and immediately we left for the caves and zip-line. 1st bonus, he had rum punch, beer and water on ice for us.

We arrived before all the crowds and busses. We got our tubes, Dennis has his own corral filled with tubes w/ his name on them,
we then met up with, dang his name is 2 names, lets' just call him Ben, Ben and Edgar led us through the jungle path to the river. After crossing the river and walking we came to the spot in the river for the 1st cave which I came to find out is where most folks start. We continued walking and came to the spot where we were to go in so this way we would be going through two caves.

At first I asked why we were not free-floating, we were instructed to line our tubes in a row, hmm, I did not like this. Well surprise surprise, when we caught up to the others who had started in the 1st cave they were caught in the corners of the cave, stuck in low water, caring their tubes and slip sliding on the rocky bottom covered with silt. Us, we were happily in our tubes being guided by Ben and Edgar as they worked together to pull, push, steer us in the best path to journey forward, oh yes there was the occasional raise your butt as we glided over the shallows. I guess that was bonus #2, having pros guide us.

Bottom line, I guarantee that Dennis and his guys are legit and capable of showing you a great time. We were so happy we all tipped upon paying, which by the way was not until after we had completed the tubing and zip-line, who else would not ask for the money until the end?

“Awesome cave tubing and zip line adventure”

My husband, 14 year old, 12 year old, and myself were recently in Belize as a port of call on a cruise ship. I had heard the cave tubing tour was terrific. We were not disappointed. Rather than book with the cruise line, we booked online prior to departure with "explorebelizecaves.com". We were able to do both the zip line and cave tubing for about the same price as the cruise line charges for just the cave tubing.

Dennis Perez called a few days after I booked to confirm and secure a small deposit. When we arrived in Belize he was waiting. We were in a small group of 8 vs. the large tour groups from the ships. This allowed such a more personal experience. Our very friendly guide Vel answered all of our questions and gave us very interesting information about Belize and the rainforest throughout the tour.

We arrived back at the port in plenty of time to do a little shopping and sample the local beer, There were never any concerns with getting back in time to get a tender back to the ship.

Fun, Fun, Fun!!!
