Casa Maya is a resort that is obviously not so very well known. We and a French couple had the resort for ourselves and there were some friends of the owners from the States which in the end made us feel like part of the family.
Big cabanas with big bath rooms and a beautiful nature surround the hotel. We booked the full meal plan for a special rate but had half of our meals outside - in the end we regretted that we did not eat more often at the hotel as they made a mixture of nice Centralamerican food and German specialities (we never had Schnitzel or red cabbage vegetable with a kind of bread-egg-balls called knoedel but it tasted delicious and obviously the people from Texas requested this stuff). Very nice house keeping stuff (Cretelle?!!) and a relaxing athmosphere for a good price.
We heard that Casa Maya was for sale - this place has real great options for the future.
