We just returned from 8 nights in Belize - 3 of which where at Ka'ana. It was a fabulous experience, beginning with the hotel's driver picking us up from BZE. We found all of the staff to be very pleasant, well-groomed / dressed, and willing to help make our stay better if possible.
As we were there over Easter weekend, the restaurant had a small menu of few choices. However, when they realized we'd pre-paid all our dinners to be there, they offered to substitute the regular menu or the bar tapas menu any night. We had the Easter specials the first night, which were delicious! Ordered off the terrific regular menu the second, and had simple, really, really good pizza in the bar the next night. You absolutely MUST try the breakfast burrito - I'm craving one right now!
We booked tours through Ka'ana to Tikal and a zip-line / cave-tubing combo. Our guide, Wilbert, was FANTASTIC! Very reassuring when needed (driving on the crazy roads to Tikal), very well informed about all kinds of things (history, jungle plants, etc), and lots of fun.
The only less-than-stellar experience was the massage. I'd opt out of that the next time, but it wasn't horrible...just not as wonderful as everything else we did.
We'd highly recommend Ka'ana to any of our family and friends.
