We just returned from a two week visit to Placencia and the Chabil Mar Villas. Chabil Mar’s staff, condos and setting would be very hard to beat; I personally have never been anywhere that can even compare with this lovely spot.

The units are upscale, beautifully and uniquely decorated with their marble floors, beautiful art work and king size beds. If you want a holiday that will make you feel like you are very special then Chabil Mar is the place.

We took tours with a guide the Chabil Mar staff had suggested and had the most wonderful time going thru the jungle, snorkelling and fishing. We had wonderful walks along the beach to the village, and sat each night on our deck or in the palaps watched the sun set.

The gardens feel like they have been their for years even though the villa’s are only a few years old, the pools are clean and refreshing and even those are uniquely designed. If you want a very special vacation where you feel welcome and pampered this is the place for you

We have just returned from a week's stay at Chabil Mar Villas. The condos are beautiful and immaculately cared for--ours was a 2-bedroom, 2 bath with a sofa bed in the living room and additional twin beds in a loft area (plenty of room for our group of 6 adults), living room with TV/DVD, full kitchen, beautifully appointed with everything you need to cook the wonderful fresh fish you can catch on private fishing tours! We enjoyed our freshly caught Wahoo steaks for one meal--grilled on the outdoor grills available to guests. And if you're not inclined to cook, the full-service kitchen will supply you with breakfast, lunch and dinner served anywhere on the beautiful grounds--eat on your private veranda surrounded by flowers and hummingbirds, overlooking the green sea or by one of the 2 "designer" pools. We particularly loved eating out on the private pier, surrounded by stars and water, served by a staff that was professional yet incredibly friendly!
There's plenty to do-from fishing, diving, snorkeling, hikes, etc and the staff will make tour arrangements for you, including providing you with lunch if needed! Town is fun-a short walk or bike ride away (bikes are provided by the resort). Lots of "rustic" bars and trinket shopping to be found, as well as a few incredible restaurants that I would give 4-star ratings to (French Connection was one of our favorites!).
And if you just want to relax, the resort's private beach, with lounge chairs, thick towels and palm trees was short walk away from our door. I spent hours floating in the water and watching all sorts of fish, dolphins and birds swim and fly by.
A perfect vacation spot made even more wonderful by the resort accommodations and its fabulous staff!

Unbelievable.....the beauty, the aromas, the friendly people, the serenity, the romance, the entire experience. It will take a lot to top this holiday.
The accommodations are absolutely top drawer, the staff is always there whenever needed and happy to assist in any way they can. You feel like this is your home and you have come back to stay even for just a little while.
If you don't feel like cooking, all you have to do is call the kitchen and they will be happy to cook you a wonderful meal from the many choices the Chabil Mar menu has to offer.
Sounds of the wildlife put you to sleep at night and awaken you in the morning. Warm sunshine welcomes you to sit on the patio and enjoy the thoughts of all the exciting events that will take place for you that day.
Chabil Mar has a world class tour guide at your beck and call. Every trip is a memory that will resound within you for years to come. Come explore the jungle, the monkeys, the crocodiles, the birds, iguanas and exotic snakes. All from the safety of your boat, if you so choose. Tour the jungles to taste what it has to offer, talk to the monkeys and experience the beauty this humid climate has to offer.
After each and every exciting day, you will look forward to coming back and enjoying the beautiful clean white sands the Chabil Mar has to offer. Sit back in the comfortable chaise lounges, enjoy a fresh drink of your choice and reminisce on your experiences of the day. Or you can float lazily in one of the two infinity pools that look out over the Caribbean Ocean and rejoice in how lucky you are to be in this very spot. How lucky you are that you have discovered such an amazing place like Chabil Mar.
The gardens of Chabil Mar welcome you every where you look. The vibrant colours, the amazing varieties of palm trees, the bougainvillea, the sweet smells of so many different flowers. Stunning to say the least.
Without a doubt, I will return!

Just returned from a terrific vacation in Placencia. We chose Chabil Mar because of the reviews on trip advisor and the beautiful pictures of the resort and the villas on their web site and we were so pleased with our choice. The pictures didn't even do it justice. The staff was so helpful, the food was very good and the tours they booked for us were so neat. We knew we would want to experience the culture in addition to the tours and fishing, so we selected Chabil Mar because we read that is was easy access to all the village had to offer . . . and it was.

We walked on the beach to restaurants for breakfast, biked in the afternoon, just five minutes, to wander around for gifts, lunch and drinks. Boy did we have a lot of fun at the Barefoot Beach Bar and happy hour at Yolis. Had a couple of lunches on the Chabil Mar pier and drinks poolside. Very good with awesome views sitting out over the ocean. Took tour to Monkey River. Cool, very cool. Fishing trip out to the islands was great. Can't say much more.

Chabil Mar is so lush and private, yet right in the heart of the variety of restaurants and bars. Never a dull moment. We could not have been happier with our choice.
