I have lived in Guatemala for three years now and this is by far my favorite hotel in the country. For luxury, accomodations, service, quality, everything. From the unbeatable breakfast buffet, to the beautiful marble bathrooms, to the gorgeous swimming pool and hot tubs, to the modern gym facilities, everything is perfectly appointed.

The price for the quality is great. The service is wonderful. I couldn't say enough about this hotel. I have stayed in my fair share of crappy hotels in Guatemala. This is not one of them. Stay here if you can when you are in the capital. Every other place pales in comparison.

We've stayed there 4 times. The first time, the AC was a little warm, so the next time we visited, they made sure it was working well. My friend lost her passport, and they kept it for her. The food in the thai restaurant is good and has reasonable prices. The jaccuzzi was great!! The pool is warm (which is good because its a little cool in Guate. The staff was friendly and the hotel is gorgeous!!!

We stayed two night at the Grand Tikal and were very pleased. The service was outstanding. From the front desk to the bellmen (Giovanny was excellent), everyone was very pleasant and professional. Everyone we encountered spoke English so language was never a problem. We had room service one night and the food was very good and very hot. We had only a short wait for it to arrive.

We stayed on the Royale floor which included a large lounge with free soda, water and juice. Beer and wine were a modest additional charge. The Royale Floor also included snack and appetizers - which were very good. A continental breakfast was also included in the price of the room and again, the food was very good.

There is a mall attached to the hotel and another across the streeet (a little more upscale) if you need anything.

I would stay at the Grand Tikal in a heartbeat.

The hotel was excelent! we only stayed there for one night but the service and the room were awesome. the breakfast buffet is included and is huge, they have a great selection of fruits, juices, coffee, cereal, and the list goes on!
I also had room service and they were fast and the food was delicious.
The shuttle pick us up from the airport (free), and we took a taxi back to the airport because the shuttle comes every hour and we need to be there earlier. the get a taxi for you in minutes ($8).
It was a great experience!
