We stayed at the Royal Mirage in for a week in April. The hotel is no where near a 5* by English standards. 3* at the most. We were the only English couple staying at the hotel too, and the hotel staff struggle to speak alot of English. A majority of the people staying were French and all entertainment/communication was written in French. The hotel rooms do no not have double beds but the cleaners will push the single beds together on request and make the beds with bigger sheets. The cleaners do have a tendancy to just walk into your room in the mornings, even if you put the latch across they would still try to open it! The room was OK, we had a TV with a couple of English channels, table and chairs, mini bar, balcony and a safe that did not work! The bathroom was horrible, not overly clean and very dated. the shower curtain was a plastic one that you had to put on the inside of the bath to stop the water going everywhere. The breakfast was a buffet, it was the same every day which got really boring - Toast, eggs, pancakes, pastries, cereals. Beware if you are going as a couple and want to sunbathe around the pool as they have one of those entertainment companies within the hotel. People would pester you when sunbathing to get up and do exercises, dancing, yoga, games etc, the music was terrible to top it off that they played all the time! Children running around and screaming as well. We gave up by the pool and went to one of the grassed areas or the beach so not to be constantly asked to join in. The weather was hot but windy and it was the same at night, so make sure to take a jacket. Some of the restaurants along the beach front are lovely but they do try and drag you into every restaurant that you pass. Agadir was not what I was expecting of Morocco, and we would personally not go there again. The photos on the Royal Mirage website are highly deceiving. You have been warned!!
