About
Habitual visitors to the ancient labyrinthine streets of the Marrakech Medina will be familiar with the Cafe des Epices, a reknown meeting point and perfect location for a respite from shopping excursions in the souks. Many will also be aware of Kamal Laftimi’s other much heralded establishment, Le Jardin, in which he and interior architect Anne Favier have created a true magical oasis located within a beautifully renovated 16th Century building. Entering through an unassuming door, one comes into a lush garden dotted with tables and lights surrounded by the majestic building and the terraces above where one can lounge in the evening and watch the occassional open air projected classic films.

Excellent place to have lunch or afternoon tea. Plenty sun and fresh air. A lot of space and different terrace are available. Better to book in advance.

We loved the vibe of Le Jardin. It was a little bit challenging to find it at first, but the food was definitely worth the wait. The quality of the food is really high, whilst i believe it does not follow entirely the traditional Moroccan...standard. I would recommend le Jardin for a romantic escape from the buzzing historical center but only if you are motivated after a proper Moroccan food experience. I felt like le Jardin would be a perfect place to taste Moroccan food in a European/Western city. However, i believe there are other restaurants that can offer a more “authentic” Moroccan experience.More

You can see why it has become an Instagram hotspot as it is a very lovely place to visit and very picturesque. There is a nice balance between traditional dishes with a modern European twist to make the menu enticing to tourists. We had a...lovely table for two and had two starters to share and two mains. The service takes a while but that seems to be the norm in Morocco. The food is nice but nothing to rave about you can find nicer food at other restaurants but what you are here for is to take pictures of your food and the beautiful restaurant that you are in.More

The restaurant is beautiful. We loved the garden like courtyard and all the green tiles and art. Our table was about 40cm from the next…felt like we were having dinner with the next table. We ordered 3 steaks. They were inedible….just cartilage. We were unable...to cut our steaks. We asked for sharper knives, but this didn’t help. Asked our waiter to try to cut one for the steaks and he couldn’t. The staff offered nothing to fix the situation…simply offering something else would have been the right thing to do. However, a 17usd steak is too good to be true outside of countries that produce beef…should have known better. In the end, we paid for everything except the steaks and had dinner at Atay Cafe nearby. Worth visiting if you order something else.More

The place is absolutely gorgeous, they even have a nice terrace but the garden is so beautiful I would suggest to book a table there if possible. We shared a couple appetizers, one main each and shared a dessert. The food was good but I...would say not much better than the average restaurant in Marrakech, and considering this is kind of in the pricier side compared to Moroccan prices I'd say this is the only reason I didn't give 5 stars. I still think it deserves a visit, especially if you're planning a romantic date.More

The...service was friendly and attentive to our group and the food was expertly prepared and served and of high quality. We chose this restaurant based on past Trip Adviser reviews. As a seasoned traveler, and a food lover, here’s our assessment. Down a Medina alleyway and through a door in a wall. This opens into a delightful courtyard with tables scattered under leafy trees. We...arrived about 7pm, popping in as a family of 4 seeking authentic Moroccan food. Food: Excellent – incredibly tasty tagines, meat and fish dishes. Drinks: No alcohol, but lovely fresh fruit juices Service: Excellent – friendly and efficient Ambience: Sitting outside under trees and shrubs in a court yard added to a great experience. Payment: Excellent value – mains and drinks totalled 780 MAD. Visa/Mastercard accepted. Highly recommend.More
