“fantastic trek, superb guides, for Atlas mountain treks these are the ones”

Toudaoui Brahim & Mohamed Atlas mountain tours nailed it for us. We were two women and two 10 yr old children. We went on a three day 2 night trek. Next time we would do 3 nights 4 days (as they actually recommended). The guide was Dris, the cook was Hassim and the muleteer Brahmin (sorry guys if I've spelt your names wrong). They made the experience from start to finish; they were professional, informative and totally committed to making our time work. This meant brilliant food, great local knowledge and insights, humour, patience. They were fantastic with the kids, funny and kind. It was tough the first day as unusually for the time of year it hailed, rained and snowed for the first day. We were walking for many hours (our choice) and it could have been pretty grim but they kept our spirits and speed up and we made it to the gite. They organised huge numbers of blankets, cooked great food and were flexible about the plans for the next days. The mountains were beautiful, the villages were fascinatinmg, the people were very friendly, but what made the trek were Dris, Hassim and Brahmin. I would totally recommend them and this amazing area

“Great Trip. Thank you Abdul and Muhammed.”

We booked a three night four day trek in the Atlas Mountains with Atlas and Sahara. Our children are 14, 11, and 6. They provided an extra mule for the 6 year old, and a muleteer (Hassan) who took great care of her. Our primary guide, Abdul, was just wonderful. He had a great knowledge of the mountains, was extremely friendly, and did everything possible to make our trip good. It snowed on our third day, making it impossible for the mule carrying our 6-year old to climb to the pass planned for that day. So our trip had to be completely reorganized in the middle, and Abdul did a great job. Be sure to take your own sheets. Some of the "guesthouses" at which we stayed were not just primitive, but also quite dirty. All in all a wonderful trip. Thank you Abdul!

“Brilliant organisation and guides. Will use again.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 April 2011

I have just returned from a week in Morocco and spent three days walking in the Toubkal area. This was organised for us by Atlas and Sahara Tours and it was first class. I stayed with our two teenage boys in the Dar Imlil hotel and we then walked to the refuge and stayed two nights there in fantastic snowy conditions - such a contrast to Imlil and Marrakech! Our guide, Abdul, couldn't have been more helpful and he took the boys up Toubkal while I pottered around in nearby valleys. A mule and another guide were also provided and some extremely good food was provided during our trek - the only problem was there was too much of it and we felt guilty leaving it. Abdul also sorted out crampons and ice axes for the boys. Booking anything by email can be worrying, but this company wouldn't even take a deposit from me which I thought was pretty amazing in this day and age. We're hoping to go back next year and possibly do a desert trek with them, so they must be good for us to be planning a return already!

“Toudaoui Brahim & Mohamed - Excellent Trek!”

We opted for a four day trek around the High Atlas through the valleys and it was excellent. Like one of the other reviewers, the cost was less than other trekking companies and as far as I know, did not leave out anything. In fact, for €200 per person we had a guide, a mule, a chef, 3 nights in guest accommodation with hot showers each night (even a hammam for 20 Dirham pp was available on the last night) - in comparison to other treks that I've done (showers?!!) this felt like luxury. (We were quoted £295 pp from a UK based company for I think pretty much the same thing)

The food was fantastic, thanks to Mohammed our fabulous chef, Jacqueline the mule carried all our stuff and Idriss our guide was polite, friendly, informative - we had a lot of fun. On average we walked 5-6 hours per day (although longest was 7.5 - we opted to go further to see a waterfall). Generally I would describe the route as moderate (although, of course, that all depends on fitness etc).

Anyway - I would thoroughly recommend Toudaoui Brahim & Mohamed, a local Imlil based company, for your trek in the Atlas.
