We stayed at the Zolah in May 2008 and were lucky enough to secure a booking only the week before. We had to change rooms each of the three nights we were there, but it was actually lovely to get to see three of the rooms. We stayed in Suites 2, 4 and then 1. We probably enjoyed Suite 2 the most. It was very rainy the first night so we had a fire going the whole time we were in the room. Suite 4 has a more interesting shape (L-shaped) but the bedroom drapes you in miles of red fabric and lights up beautifully at night by candlelight. All three rooms were really nice and they set up a bed for our 4-year-old daughter in each. The courtyard and rooftop were also beautiful and the location was quite convenient to reach all the major sites in and around the medina.
The best part of the riad, though, has to be the service. From Fatima and Ismail at the helm, handling all the details of our stay, to the superb cook and wonderful staff, we never lacked for anything. The riad proactively provides for many things to make your stay as enjoyable as possible (such as a dining guide and a mobile phone), which we found refreshing and unexpected.
It deserves the "Hidden Gem" status on TripAdvisor.com. We had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend it.
