“Dirty and Dishonest”

Mercure Rabat Sheherazade

This Hotel is unlike any Accor Hotel I have stayed at. The foyer and the appearnce of the Hotel from outside makes you think it is a modern Hotel. This is not the case! Firstly the lift was out of service and then when we opened the door to our room I nearly died. Nothing looked clean - the sheets looked dirty, the bathroom needed attention. As we arrived late at night I went downstairs to ask for bottled water. The man on reception sold it to me for 35 dirham and then when I got back to the room it was obvious the seal had been broken. Stay away from this Hotel!

Mercure in Rabat has a nice hotel, it's pretty cheap compared to the other Accor hotel in Rabat downtown (Sofitel, better, but much more expensive) and is much better located than Ibis, that is on the suburb of Rabat-Agdal. Rooms are pretty ok, although the bathroom "seemed" unifinished as you could see the water pipes going at floor level, but other than this small ugliness the hotel was ok.

We stayed on a Cosmos/Archers Tour for one night. Not the standard that we had expected. The downstairs had had a make over but the bedroom and bathroom were poor. I thought revamps started on the top floors.
The staff were rude and dishonest . Happy hour did not exist and staff tried to rip you off. Our Party were nearly coming to blows with the staff until the tour director and our local guide intervened to get our 2 for 1 drinks.

On a Cosmos/ Archers tour stayed at this hell hole. Public rooms are ok but wait until you get upstairs- sheets a delightful shade of grey-bathroom filthy-plumbing appalling.
The towel rail fell off the wall and there was a hole in the bath. Stay away from this place.

I thought it would be nice, belonging to the Accor chain. It's not. Room was incredibly small, dirty, dingy, no heating (I was there in the winter) and I got sick in the restaurant. For what you pay, go somewhere else, definitely not here.
