Riad Tanja is under new ownership as of May 2009. The new owner was very welcoming and helpful and friendly. She asked if our party of six would like to be seated on the balcony for our dinner; it was a highlight of our stay in Tangier. A full moon, a view of the market and the lights of the new town, and wonderful food beautifully served. Breakfast was equally delightful. Don't miss another highlight of a stay in Tangier, a tour of the American Legation Museum, next to the Riad Tanja. You will learn its long and fascinating history, see art about Tangier and by Moroccans, and enjoy its beautiful interior. The Forbes Museum of Military Minatures is closed now, but two of the displays are now in the Legation Museum.

This small riad was gorgeous - after traveling from Chefchaouen, all we wanted to do was relax. When we got to our room, hot mint tea, cookies, and bottled water was waiting for us. The staff was friendly and accommodating - since we were leaving early the next morning, we were provided a special breakfast since the chef hadn't yet arrived. A little bit hard to find, but definitely worth it.

Nice riad with good size rooms. Meals were really tasty and it is centrally located (although v hard to find via car). Staff were friendly.
