I was in Dar for a workshop and I had to stay at the Grand Villa Annex because my colleagues had occupied the main hotel which was a 1o minutes walk from the annex. the hotel is lean and quiet. though, we could not get internet, we had to borrow modems and share networks amongst ourselves. We only had breakfast in the annex, dinner was at the main hotel. so the major thing i enjoyed in this hotel was the cool and quiet environment

Stayed there because it was conveniently located for business. Clean place with spacious rooms. Staff however unresponsive to complaints about the room. Air-conditioning leaked into the bed, shower in the alternative room drained into the bedroom, shower of the next room just flooded the bathroom. Stuff like this happens in Africa but the main issue was that nothing was fixed during my stay. Level of English of the staff was very limited and they lacked any initiative. They do serve good espresso coffee, but unfortunately most staff cannot operate the machine.

It is an ok place with great potential, room service is a bit frustrating the orders take forever.

You may need to go early if you want more variety for breakfast, they did not replenish as fast.

Generally comfortable.

Room tip: Rooms close to the staircase are quite noisy.

i have traveled more than 5 countries in Europe, in Grand villa hotel i found the same service standard which we get in European hospitality, i like the presence of management and their swift response. they make your stay beyond your expectation. very reasonable rates with high class service. rooms are ok, but the food is awesome. breakfast is very delicious. the WIFI was the best i ever got in any place. rooms are very clean with clean linen. Hotel needs to add some more facilities like swimming pool and gym for long staying guest, but the manager told me its already in their plan by the end of this year.

Location wise this hotel is an ideal place.Very safe and secure place, the pub Jambo bar is very peaceful but needs renovation.

i highly recommend this hotel , its a 3 star property, but provides a 5 star atmosphere.
