The day I wrote to Philip Kilewo, the owner of the Mt Kilimanjaro View Lodge, I had just 3 weeks left before my departure to Tanzania. The trip was supposed to happen during the low season and the companies I contacted in Switzerland and Germany could not offer any groups to join. E-mail communication with MKVL wasn’t perfect and I did feel I was taking a leap of faith, but Philip got it all done for me: rather quickly he found my specified Kilimanjaro trek and a 5-day safari with experienced guides and small groups during my specified dates, on top of that, at a reasonable price. He and his staff also took care of my transfers from/to the airport, trek and safari, I had no reason to worry whatsoever and had an amazing time! Between the trek and the safari I stayed at MKVL, which was a wonderful experience – very friendly and helpful staff, great food and evenings filled with songs and dances, the hike to the gorgeous waterfall and of course, spectacular views Mt Kilimanjaro! It is a really special place, don't miss it during your visit.
