I am from Laredo, Texas, and had the pleasure of staying in this hotel with my husband for almost 2 weeks on our very first vacation to Ghana June 19 - July 31, 2010 . And I must say, what a nice experience we had! Our room was small but clean and the bathroom was impeccable. The friendly staff l did our laundry daily for a small fee and one of them even did me the favor of walking me to a hair salon nearby to get my hair braided! The hotels' best-kept secret is its quiet dining area, where the chef will prepare for you any dish you ask, ranging from toast and eggs in the mornings to tilapia with rice and grilled chicken with jollof rice in the afternoon or evenings. Safety was not a concern at all, as our belongings were left amazingly intact throughout our stay, even though the cleaning staff entered our room daily. I am glad we did not end up staying in busy and much-advertised hotels on Osu, as Emperor Hotel's peaceful atmosphere afforded my husband and I the time to spend uninterrupted time with each other after our daily outings in Accra. One more thing, the air conditioning never failed!
