Stayed here last week for 3 days, and am in again for the weekend now. Am a regular as come to Mali a lot for work. Rooms are large and comfortable, big bed, slightly lumpy but comfortable nonetheless. Huge bathroom with good water pressure and shower over bath. Aircon works fine. TV has plenty French channels, an English movie channel and the usual CNN etc. Mini bar in room well stocked but expensive.
Free WiFi's quality varies depending on your room position - the hotel has 5 levels and you need to look up on the ceiling in the corridor to see where the wireless connector is and ensure your room is not too far from this.Generally the closer your room to the lifts the stronger the WiFi signal.
Do not stay on ground floor as rooms are FULL of mozzies. Higher-up is fine.
Staff very friendly and accomodating, and I've had no problems getting laundry done. Taxis available out front, air-con or not. Easy to get in/out of the airport which is one reason I like staying here, no fighting "CBD" traffic! Minimal traffic noise inside the rooms even though you are close to highways. Views are actually quite pleasant from rooms.
The food really lets this place down - room service menu is very limited and the most consistent meals in terms of quality on it are the hamburger and spaghetti bolognaise in my view. Ordered a vegie pizza by the pool one day and a base came out with tomato, some onion and two black olives, nothing else. Sent it back in for some fromage at least.
Dinner in the hotel restaurant upstairs was awful, I ate dinner there and was given burnt steak, and entree was fish soup that tasted like tinned tuna mixed with tomato puree, all very expensive. Service was bad also. Will get a taxi next time and go eat at the Thai restaurant in town or Apaloosa Bar for some Mexican.
Best food I've had is the breakfast buffet, staff get to know you very quickly and look after you in terms of your coffee preferences etc etc. Happy to come back, just won't eat lunch or dinner here again.
DOn't get a room on ground floor, full of mozzies and privacy feels invaded as windows at ground...
