It's hot in Bangkok, seriously. So biking at night was a great and much more interesting thing to do. You see the nightlight, the temples lit up, you see the flower market at night, always busy and bustling. You go through the back alleys of people's houses, (duck your head) you see how people live in Bangkok. You see a whole new side to Bangkok.
Our guide Tammy was very knowledgeable, explaining which temple we were at, and we were lucky enough to go to a temple in which the monks were leading a chant with the people. To experience that was very humbling and peaceful at the same time.
We biked along the river in the dark, with locals waving to us. We saw so many things, we rode along the grand palace at night all lit up. It was a great experience over all and you should definitely check it out.
You need to know how to ride a bike for this tour, and thinking yeah I rode one as a kid, isn't the way to think! You should get there a bit early and try to ride the bike for a bit if you haven't been on one for a while. The bikes have shocks which is a good thing as the streets, roads are pretty bumpy. And I'll admit, I totally fell off my bike within the first 5 seconds of getting on it. But that's ok, the tour was amazing after. Wear comfy clothing for biking.
