Thoughtful design to the extreme. Every creative touch and gesture of genuine hospitality are noted:)
The consistent use of the scent of jasmine, the area map of reco hotspots, the ubiquitous nods to its regional history and the owners' educational background in architecture -- are all impeccably unified as a beautiful whole, also with the most personable staff that were honestly the nicest and most sincere people I met in the entire Bangkok during my 3-day stay. I didn't fall in love with the chaotic city but that just made coming back to Asadang every night so much more soothingly special. It felt like home. Breakfast was also lovely.
The ONLY downside was that it's located slightly far off from the busiest/hip part of Bangkok; public transportation was also not within walking distance. But it is indeed surrounded by a lot of temples if thats what you're into and oh SO many amazingly authentic and cheap Thai restaurants with 99% local clientele. Go by Asadang's reco list.
