We had been travelling for eight weeks across three continents and Bangkok was our final destination. As you can imagine our rucksacks and general attire were a litle worn and when we entered the hotel we felt very scruffy. However, the staff were very polite and efficient, even the smartly dressed concierge picked up up our scruffy rucksacks witout batting an eyelid (brave man). Everything in the hotel was top notch, if not a lttle expensive. We did not mind the expense, we were in a city after all. My only tip to them was how much they charged in the room for a bottle of water and for a can of Singha beer (seeing is believing). It was a great location and the gym, spa facilites were excellent. They let us use these even though we had checked out hours earlier. Great place.

What an excellent location - just down the road from the night markets and an easy walk or short tuk-tuk ride to the river. As the tap water is undrinkable they provide you with bottles in your room but there are plenty of little shops nearby that sell bottled water very cheaply. the place next door has a small market with beautiful silk scarves and a better price and less chance of having your bag lifted than at the Patpong markets - but as this is only 20mins along a well lit road there is no issue about strolling down at night. The rooms are somewhat tired but they are air-con a major plus as well as being nice and clean, a very good choice

Stayed for 2 nights at the Holiday Inn Silom. Entering the lobby area gives this hotel a wow factor, very modern and stylish. I requested an early check-in on a high floor 2 months before arrival, its a shame they could only provide me with a room on the 8th floor with no real view whatsoever only some low level roof tops, foliage and a brick wall. I found this slightly dissapointing for my partner who wanted a nice view of the city. Superior room was ok spacious and comfortable bed. In the bathroom the shower wall and sink needed a good clean as all the grouting was mouldy. Buffet breakfast was ok, lots to choose from. Staff ok, however front desk gave some very inaccurate information on the local sights. The location is great - 5 minutes walk from the skytrain and about 10 minutes walk to the nearest pier on the Chow Phraya river. Overall the holiday inn was good but I will try other hotels on my future visits to Bangkok.

Cannot praise this place enough! Staff were helpful, extremely polite & simply could not do enough for us. Room was spacious, clean & modern & the bed was really comfortable. We were made to feel special for the whole of our 5 day stay.
Breakfast buffet was ample, well cooked & good value.
Location is perfect with great bars, restaurants & places of interest within walking distance. There is even an Irish Bar under the hotel!
This hotel was part of a trip we made to a number of other cities where we stayed other Hilton & Crowne Plaza Hotels & this place outshone them all.
No hesitation in rcommending this place to all concerned.
