My boyfriend and I spent 2 nights at Lebua back in January 2007. The staff is amazing. Right from the beginning they came out to greet us and help us with our luggage. They helped us book tours and dinner reservations as well. We loved the welcome chocolates! And the VIEW from the top! It is truly amazing. If dinner is too expensive for you atleast go up to the roof bar for drinks. We felt like royalty.

This hotel is in a building called State Tower in Silom,Bangkok. The building is almost like a monument with a golden Dome at the top, which we later learnt houses some of the best restaurants in the city. Our stay was fabulous. The staff at every point was extremely helpful. The best part was a complementary breakfast at their poolside restaurant which had great variety. The dessert buffet in the same restaurant is also great during lunchtime. I also ordered room service a couple of times and each time they exceeded my expectations. On the final night of our stay, we went up to the Dome to Skybar. At the 64th floor it is a place you must see once in your life. I am extremely impressed by the hotel and its staff and will definitely recommend the place to my friends.

I hate to be a party popper, but I have to say this hotel did not overly impress us. Sure it is very nice, rooms are comfortable and well appointed and there seemed to be a good selection of restaurants although we only ventured to the Sirocco which I have to say was pretty good (top-notch roof top bar/restaurant). But overall the experience was stuffy and clinical and the staff seemed more interested in protocol than making the customer feel welcome. Perhaps I am being a little picky but we received a call 15 minutes before check out time (i.e. 11.45am) to 'remind' us that we would have to pay another nights stay if we didn't check out at noon. Sure, it is normal to need to check out in good time, but the spirit in which it was done was not with the customers best experience in mind - in fact it felt pushy and almost like an accusation of outstaying our welcome! We spent time in a number of equivalent hotels all over Thailand I have to say this was the least memorable of the experiences. I would not say don't try it but don't be surprised if you feel that the service experience is a little below par when all said and done. I would probably try one of the other hotels on the river if we ever venture to Bangkok again.

We spent a long weekend in Bangkok over May 1st, 08 at the Lebua. This hotel is 'class' from every aspect...lovely reception area, staff was outstanding. We were accompanied to our deluxe room on the 56th floor by one of the receptionists who advised us of all the room and hotel had to offer. NOTE: sign the waiver to have your balcony doors unlocked as the view of Bangkok is amazing, less than one block from the river. Our room had a living room, small kitchen area with sink, microwave, minibar & refrigerator, large bathroom and bedroom with king size bed - wonderfully comfortable and luxurious. The attention to detail and amenities were outstanding. We had dinner at two of the hotel's restuarants - Breeze on the al fresco 52nd floor and Sirocco on the al fresco 63rd floor. The food and service at both restaurants was impeccable, only bettered by the fabulous view over the city of Bangkok. There are minimal dress codes in the Sirocco, Mezzaluna and Breeze restaurants - casual-business I would call it (no flip flops, athletic clothing, etc). Breakfast buffet was large and very good with a varied menu of cuisines. We had the lunch buffet one day in Cafe Mezo which was extraordinary in both taste and variety. The Lebua is truly a five star, luxury hotel.
