We stayed at the Peninsula the first 3 night of our honeymoon in Thailand and it was the best beginning to an amazing trip. We mentioned that we were on our honeymoon while checking in and they immediately upgraded us to a larger room with a better view. To top it off they sent up a complimentary bottle of champagne with chocolates and fruit. The service, food and rooms were the best I have ever experienced. Do not miss the breakfast outside by the river.
Staying on the other side of the river is so great. The boat to the main part of Bangkok is incredibly convenient and reliable. It is nice to go back to this oasis in the middle of such a busy city.

One of the top hotels in the world, I wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else in Bangkok. Rooms are perfect. Service is perfect and the food is amazing. Nothing like a nite time dinner seated next to the river, outside, at the excellent buffer restaurant. The pools are fun. Heaven in the Bangkok maze. Second trip. We will come back.

We have stayed in many wonderful hotels around the world and can easily say that the Peninsula in Bangkok is a great hotel. I guess it's the overall experience you get. Having visited Bangkok several times we decided to try the Peninsula on our upcoming trip. We had high expectations but the hotel lived up to the hype. I have to admit that I upon arrival felt it to be a little bit impersonal and too business-like, but it didn't continue to bother me. The rooms are faultless and the view is wonderful, watching the sunrise over the river is a memorable experience. Breakfast is great, the pool really nice, and the service and food brilliant. Maybe the personnel is not as friendly as in most other hotels in Thailand (but that doesn't make them unfriendly!). Bangkok has a number of fabulous hotels so competition is tough, but we are quite certain we will stay here again next time we visit the city.

Billed as world-class and it is in all ways. Only a few, minor complaints:

1. Our room wasn't ready at 3:30pm on 2pm check-in time. They upgraded us as a remedy to the Grand Deluxe - what a room!
2. Very pleasant staff but had a slow check-in (once our room was ready) and out.
3. Lunch was expensive for mediocrity. However, breakfast was excellent in the lobby restaurant and Jesters had the most unique fixed price menu I've ever had (picture one course served inside an personal ice sculpture and another course as a personal Coldstone Creamery where you add your own mix-ins on a cold marble stone).

Concierge is superb.

We paid $168 (direct reservation) for a $260 (price the day of) room.
