This was my 42 nd stay at Bangkok (over a period of 5 years) and throughout this period, I found this hotel to excel in every area that counts. Rooms, restaurants, pool -- all are very nice, but service is indeed unparallel. It is unquestionably in the same league as the handful of other Asian hotels that are rated very high in their categories.

This was truly a remarkable sight. I've been to many hotels before, but this is the best in Asia. their attentiveness to detail is amazing. the work on the walls are very nice. everywhere in the hotel that you go to, there is a staff member ready to assist you. we stayed here for 2 days, and we loved it! We booked the grande suite with our starpoints, and i know it was worth it. you have your own private butler, movies, plasmas, and all the fruits you want! the swimming pool is like no other. you feel like you are at peace when you get into it..you have orchids falling in the pool, and it looks so nice...
i would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in bangkok for a few days. although its a little pricy, it guarantees your security and its service is like no other.

We booked executive rooms here, for the free internet access, but were most disapointed with the size of the room, it was by far the smallest room we have ever experienced in Bangkok. It was so small that even the bellboy had problems trying to find somewhere to put our cases. The rooms were decorated in thai style, but were starting to look a little worn. The bathroom wasn't particulally impressive either. The other downside was its location towards the bottom of Sukhemvitz Road meant it was near impossible to take a taxi anywhere without getting stuck in traffic for half an hour. In short much as we enjoyed the free laundry and the butler service, there are many other better hotels in Bangkok. Try the Peninsula or the Conrad.

In my opinion this hotel is more about the "Attention" and "Attitude" from the staff which i found outstanding. Having just completed a 4 night stay, I found very few things I could fault about this hotel. The staff were attentive, and always happy (during my stay) and personally for me, it was their attitude that made my stay comfortable. The deluxe room (starwood preferred) on the lake side was extremely comfortable (although i agree the rooms are starting to tire but still good) and there was very little noise. The room layout is functional with excellent views from the higher floors. The bathroom was large with a deep tub and a good sized shower. A well stocked (and i thought reasonably priced) mini bar, ironing facilities and good bag storage all helped. Perhaps my one neagtive is the position of the writing desk which is sited directly in the line of the aircon and can get a little chilly after a while. That aside, the pool area is inviting, the choice of food venues and the food quality well above average, room service impeccable and the location with direct access to the Skytrain and the Sukhumvit area all adding to the value of the property.
The Sheraton also has an association with the Westin next door opening up further facitilies and access to that hotels restaurants on a single billing basis.
The hotels atmosphere could best be described as neutral and in my opinion there is no real ambience but the hotel is classy in the way it dresses.
