“Great view”

Baiyoke Sky Hotel

21 Jun 2008

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in March 2008. I recommend booking before you arrive, because it's much cheaper than booking once you are at the hotel. It is a good time to stay here in march because it was many rooms available. I booked the room the day before arrival.

The staff at the hotel were extremely friendly and they are very helpful. The room was clean and spacious.
The view was spectacular! I stayed at the 61. floor and the view took my breath away.

The bed was amazing! And very high quality.
The room is big and the bathroom is big too.
The breakfast is in 76. floor and it's amazing view! Food was good but not much european food too choose from.

I recomend a visit to Siam Paragon shopping center. It's very big and luxurious. It's not a long way from the hotel.

Not so good: When I went to the airport I ordered a car from the hotel. But I got a ugly van. Not a good end for my trip.

It is a fun place to stay and it's good value for money. I will stay here next time I am in Bangkok.

Stayed in Baiyoke Sky for 5 days.. Location is good, the rest sucks.. Looks more like a motel to me.. It's so crowded and so noisy !! The traffic is even worse.. The hotel looks old and there is a funny smell.. The room is clean and very big.. Breakfast is good but easily get bored..The service of the staffs sucks.. Maybe they were too busy chatting with each other.. I dun think i will stay there again.. I would rather pay more for Novotel or Holiday Inn the next time..

“The room smell terrible”

My family were given 3 rooms on the 35th floor of the said hotel. 2 of the rooms were OK but one of the rooms has a terrible cigarettes smell. Even the bed cover and the pillow cases had a very strong smell of cigarettes.

We complaint to the front desk and the answers given were always that it is a "Non Smoking floor and there is no smell". and " We will spray the room"

When the chamber maid and a technician came, they too confirmed the smell and sprayed the whole room with deodarizer but the smell still dont go away. We tried to have a change of room but was denied with reason given that there is no more room except for one room on the 24th floor. We decline as I dont want my 3 three young sons staying too far from my family in foreign country.

The front desk did not offer any assistance to resolve the problem and expect my sons to go through the 4 days and 3 night with the terrible smell.

We went back to the room with disappointment. We called the house keeping and complaint about the smell and again the help offered was to spray the room. We demanded to change the bed sheet and pillow cover, to which they agreed. But the room still have the strong cigarettes smell.

My sons had to spray perfume on the aircon outlet every hour to make the room bareble.Being a non-smoker you can imagine how terrible a cigarrettes smell can be.

My sons' stay in the hotel was a terrible one. I am very dissapointed with the service of the hotel and the unwillingness of the front desk personnel to resolve the matter.

Stay at Baiyoke Sky 25th floor frm 14 Mar to 17 Mar.
Lobby is at the 17th floor.
Room was very spacious and clean.
Bathroom comes with a separate shower area and bath tub.
Breakfast spread was good. Baiyoke also provide muslim food.
Shuttle bus to siam centre (1 way only).
Was advised by the recep lady that nearest BTS (Phaya Thai) is just "15mins" walk. But actually its very far!
Platinam mall and pratunam market is just a walking dist.
There's quite a nbr of muslim restaurants nearby the hotels also.
Not all staffs able to speak eng.
check in & check out recep lady is quite rude.
just need to beware of pickpockets as the area is very packed with tourists and stalls during the weekends.
overall, stay in baiyoke sky is not bad. worth the money.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights on our way to Patong. Not knowing what to expect with Bangkok we went with what our travel agent recommended and we weren't disappointed.

The best advice the travel agent provided to us was to book private transfers from the airport to the hotel and back again, fully recommend if you can afford it do it, the last thing you want to do when you arrive in Bangkok at midnight is to go by bus to all the other hotels.

For a 3 star hotel the Baiyoke Sky should be at least 4. The staff at the hotel were extremely friendly and accommodating. The room was clean, spacious and you are guaranteed a view from any floor.

Room Service: The menu in the restaurant could be found on the room service, the food was cooked to perfection.
We found this hotel didn't appear close to public transport however being our first time overseas and in Bangkok we didn't mind a bit to try out the tuk tuk rides.
The hotel has free shuttle service to Siam Discovery centre (Shops) which is in close proxmity to MBK and CBD. We later found out from a local that Baiyoke Sky is a great central point in Bangkok.

Tuk Tuk and taxi's can be found right outside the door.

Pool/ Gym and golf driving range are well equipt. However i would say that the hotel could provide more sun lounges around the pool area.
Again i found goind down to seven 11 for drinks was a lot cheaper than the hotel prices.

You dno't have to look very far for markets when we arrived on a Sat morning there was a small market outside the hotel.

We would definately stay here again if we ever vist bangkok.
