We stayed at the Bangkok Conrad to be near the Australian Embassy to arrange the paperwork for a legal wedding in Thailand, and it was in an ideal location (a tip for US travellers is that the US Embassy is near by as well). Our room was a corner room on a Club Floor which afforded us access to the Club Lounge. The room was beautifully laid out with a table & chairs by the window and a very large bathroom with a big bath also right next to the window. Great views from the lounge, bath or shower. There is also a large walk in robe and a well stocked mini bar. The hotel is a quiet little oasis to retreat to when the busy streets of Bangkok get a bit too much! The breakfast, afternoon tea and canapés served in the Club Lounge each day were consistently varied and of a very high standard. The staff are polished and friendly without being too friendly. We didn’t eat at any of the restaurants as the Club Lounge kept us well fed, however one night we did travel to Sirocco (which is not too far) to enjoy dinner and drinks in their open air restaurant – very memorable. And the shopping in Bangkok was also fantastic… however we were only there for 2 days which wasn’t long enough!
