If you want a multinational chain like Hilton or Holiday Inn thats the same in Thailand as Chicago, this isn't your hotel.
But if you want a delightful, hip Thai boutique hotel with friendly, helpful staff, fun decor and comfortable rooms, this one is excellent.
Our room was great - quiet, larger than average, very comfortable bed, excellent and well designed bathroom [our shower was fine - no door but a glass wall that stopped any water getting on the floor. Really neat blue neon lighting under the bed [see hotel website for pictures] thats a fun touch..
Staff were friendly and very helpful - their English was fine [please remember this is Thailand not the US or UK - keep it simple & try speaking clearly and you won't have any problems]
We loved our breakfast - four choices so you could have a cooked American breakfast, Continental or our choice - a healthy breakfast with juice, fruit, yogurt, meusli, a beautiful egg white omelette and excellent coffee. Everything was super fresh & made to order - no buffet sitting there getting stale.
The big blue & white striped tiger in the dining room was a fun touch.
Staff even found us a cab who took us to the airport on the meter - pretty rare in Thailand for a hotel pick up.
Only downside is that laundry is expensive - but lots of local places which are cheaper

We stayed at Dream 2 for 5 nights last week.
We had a really great time. We were upgraded to one of the superior rooms as I showed my Ipreferred card for which I applied for in advance. Our beds were not too hard at all, rather a little too soft, no bathroom right next to the bed - everything was perfect. The stuff was nice and friendly (no problems with their English compared to other hotels during our trip), helped wherever it could and even got us a nice deal for a day trip to Ayutthaya.
The breakfast was good, we really enjoyed our several times at the pool. Room service was also very delicious.
I would overall recommend the hotel and will definitely stay there again. No problems with finding it when heading home by cab - someone from the staff gave us a little map to be presented to the cab driver which we never used as they all knew how to get to Sukhumvit Soi 15 - or at least close to it and we were able to guide them back to the hotel.

I have to say, we were pleasantly surprised with this hotel. The rooms are clean and nicely appointed with the only drawback being the location of the bathroom (right next to the bed) and how hard the bed was (a common thing in Thailand).

The breakfast was good, the service at reception was good, the "concierge" was very helpful.

Most taxi drivers are not familiar with the hotel, so make sure you know the address.

“An eclectic disappointment”

Dream Bangkok

This hotel gets rave reviews and even in Bangkok it's acknowledged as one of 'THE' places to stay right now. But there are many things that let this hotel down.

It's not anywhere near the standard of a true five star hotel. For one, most staff struggle with english. Although one can get by some visitors might find this really frustrating.

My breakfasts were a huge disappointment. One has to choose from one of four set menus (Healthy, American, Asian etc.). Having lived in Bangkok for four years previously I was looking forward to the normally huge fruit variety and selection. It was miserable and kind of dried up when presented to me as part of my breakfast order.

My room was not the smallest I have ever checked into, and at first glance looked quite chic. But attention to detail and the quality of the finishes is sadly lacking. There was mould in the bathroom, the shower had a broken fixture and no shower door, which floods the bathroom every time you use it. The bedside table had scratch marks all over it and the chandelier hung so low that I hit my head on it every time I walked past to get into or out of bed. The hotel has wireless internet but to power up my laptop I had to pull the desk out from the wall because of the weird position of the plug.

The first time I went for breakfast I found I was not on the guest list. Failing to understand how I could possibly be in the hotel the staff brought me the entire guest list so that I could identify myself. Apart from this being an absolute 'no- no', I wasn't even on it...!

The reception and downstairs entrance area is an odd collection of quite bizarre elements that in my mind don't really gel together. It's all very well designing a boutique designer hotel, but if you don't pay attention to some basics it can fall flat on it's face.

There are some pluses, it was quiet at night and while it's still a new hotel one can be sure that the rooms are clean. The staff are friendly and polite and try their best to be of service. Walking to the sky-train (essential in Bangkok) is about 5-10 minutes away, as are good local restaurants.

If you manage to get a special room rate (as I did) this would be an interesting place to try, but if you were paying five star prices I would seriously go elsewhere. There are many better hotels in Bangkok.

I was very excited about staying at Dream. Once I got there, owever, I came to realize that looks can be deceiving. The hotel 'looks' very cool and slck and modern. But....the staff doesn't speak any English, so getting help for anything was impossible. The food was horrendous. Things didn't work in the room and it took 5 calls until someone actually came to help.

Service was extremely poor and it seems the hotel tries so hard to be 'cool', that they've missed the most key part of being a hotelier - service. Especially in a place like Thailand, where phenomenal service is the norm, this hotel greatly disappointed.
