“Could not fault!!”

President Park Bangkok

1 Apr 2008
1/1 found this review helpful

We returned to the President Park for the second time in three years for five nights and again, were thoroughly impressed with all aspects of this wonderful place. From the complimentary airport Limousine and room upgrade to the ever frendly staff and amazing spa/gym we could not fault a single thing.

Try the Ananda Spa for a treat and watch the world go by in the relaxing settings that are just around the corner from the hotel and you'll soon be glad you went there.

Our room was one of the recently renovated Orchid suites and it was fantastic. The washing machine/tumble dryer was so handy and the living room plasma TV with Dolby 5.1 speaker system is massive!

We frequently used the free 1/2 hourly Tuk Tuk to the Emporium to connect to the Sky Train at Phrom Phong yet, we were unsure how to get the Tuk Tuk back to the hotel. We waited where we were dropped off and it didn't show. We were later told by the GM they're commisioning a second Tuk Tuk to rotate with the existing one. Excellent!

Yes, it is "off the beaten track" that is Sukhumvit Road but that suited us to a tee. As other reviewers have stated, you need to get away from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok and this oasis was perfect for it.

So, to Khun Danny (GM) and all the staff, thanks for a memorable stay and we'll be seeing you again early next year.

“Not up to Expectations”

President Park Bangkok

Save Review
2 of 5 stars
Wellington, New Zealand

Based on tripadvisor reviews we pre-paid for 4 nights in this hotel as it had 2 non negotiables - swimming pool to relax around on the last 4 days of our trip and cope with the 35 degree heat, and in room free internet so we could upload the videos of our 6 month trip before we returned home. Neither of these expectations were met.

Swimming Pool - we were devasted when we arrived to find the swimming pool was closed for maintenance for our entire stay. I believe we should have been advised prior to booking e.g. on their website or on the instant booking details- it was closed for 2 months! They do have 3 pools, the 2 open were children/toddlers pools. I felt their approach to this showed a lack of consideration to their customers selection criteria. We would never ever have considered this hotel if we knew the swimming pool was empty and would have left if we had not pre-paid.

Internet - their in-room ADSL internet had limited website access I could bring up some websites but not the ones we needed, email, airline and travel blog. We had to go to Starbucks where it worked fine as it has with ADSL access at every hotel and internet cafe in the last 6 months. So no videos uploaded.

Room - we pre-paid for a room in the Maple Tower but were put in the Mayflower Tower across the road despite our pre-paid receipt stating Maple Tower. The next morning I queried this, they offered to move us but they were fully booked, we would have to wait until the following day. They showed us the room they would reserve for us, WOW we were rapted, it had a large wide screen TV, DVD, great decor. All was forgiven and we could not wait to move. Although the room at the Mayflower Tower was huge and adequate, the services were all housed in the Maple Tower, and it was not what we had booked. To get to the swimming pool from the Mayflower Tower involved going outside along an overbridge across the street and through the carpark. The next day they moved us, but not to the refurbished room they had shown us, but one that had not been refurbished, therefore gone were the widescreen TV, DVD and nice decor.

On a positive side full marks to the cook at the restaurant on the ground floor of the Maple Tower, Baan President.

So overall, no thanks, not again, other Bangkok Hotels do it better.

Dear Moirs,

We truly apologise for the pool being closed during your stay. The tiles were chipped and we simply had to close it to avoid our guest from getting hurt. We regret that this has made your stay less enjoyable.

With regards to the websites that you were unable to access, please could you tell us which sites are these. In that way, we can focus on the problem and rectify it.

We also regret that we were unable to give you the room you had booked. However, we will keep an offer of a free upgrade to our renovated suite for your next visit. We sincerely wish we could have done a better job at giving you a wonderful stay with us and we hope you would give us a second chance to make it up to you.

Warm regards

“Lovely!”

President Park Bangkok

24 Mar 2008

I highly recommend this Hotel located a little bit from Emporium shopping center. Some of the guest complane about the location- but this is the whole idea, to get a little bit away from the busy and noisy Sukhumvit road. Besides there is a free hotel tuk tuk that takes you to Emporium mall and BTS in 2 min! I stayed in the spacious executive studio ( 36 sqm ), that has everything you need. Very friendly and nice staff that met all my demands. I will definetly go here again!!

“Very good stay at the Maple Tower”

President Park Bangkok

21 Mar 2008

We stay from 1st till 13th March in the Maple Tower.
Very nice appartment, Orchid suite; housekeeping was perfect.
Breakfast was so good, you need to test the omelette.
The restaurant was good: fresh and tasty food. Only minus point, they hadn't stock Singha beer ;-) at that time.
Reception friendly but sometimes no pro ; example promise to phone for the limousine and didn't do it; we need to ask it again to the concierge.
General impression : very good and we can recommend the President Park.
