We stayed in a Superior room for 2 nights. On check in, they asked us for a 2000 baht deposit before we could get the room key. We had not been asked for a deposit at any of the other 6 hotels we stayed at during this holiday. After some argument we did not end up paying. We said they could remove all the minibar items and disconnect the phone, but they didn’t do that.
The hotel was nothing special to look at, the lobby was freezing cold and the rooms, lift and corridor had a musty smell, which went away when we opened the window and turned on the air conditioning. The room was ok, but it could have been cleaner. The corridor was very plain and not decorated at all, it reminded me of an office building.
The location was not great. It was located deep down Sukhumvit Soi 22, which meant a long walk to the main road. The lane is a very seedy area at night, as it is dark and full of small quiet bars filled with prostitutes. When we arrived at the hotel we were very hungry but a short walk down the lane and the surrounding area did not find many restaurants. We only found one in the lane that was still open, but the food was not good.
I would not stay at this hotel again, as it was not worth the price and there are many other better options in Bangkok.
