I stayed at this hotel for two nights in mid-March this year (bed and breakfast).
As far as the accommodation is concerned, I was very impressed. The rooms are really spacious, with a kitchen, huge bed, lovely bathroom and air conditioning. The air-con was quite a noisy model, and not as effective as it sounded. I also had a balcony but did not use this as the view was not great - see photo. The curtains were blackout ones and worked really well.
The location of the hostel is excellent - just off Sukhumvit Road and great for exploring central Bangkok. The nearest BTS station is about 10 mins walk away if you walk fast. The road outside is relatively busy, and there were lots of dogs barking throughout the night.
The staff were extremely courteous and spoke good English. My room was cleaned on a regular basis, and the doorman always rushed to open the door, and apologised if he did not get there in time!
The breakfast was in the cafe next-door and was quite minimalist although tasty. You also get free internet as a customer. Draught beer is cheap here at 1GBP. I did not eat at the Japanese restaurant.
Everything included, I paid 88GBP for my stay, and the rate I got at the time of booking was acknowledged. The only thing that makes me feel this was a little expensive was the airport transfer - I paid 20GBP for this, and whilst the car (not a UK style limo) was very comfortably air-conditioned (and it was nice to get picked up at the airport), the taxi back to the airport the week after cost me only £8. I guess 44GBP per night (inc transfer) is still less than UK hotel prices!
The rooftop outdoor swimming pool was excellent and got lots of sun. Every time I used it, nobody else was in, so it was like a private pool. A lot of reviews say that the pool doesn't get used much, but I don't understand why. The gym was adequate.
All in all, if you want something better than a hostel, but not the extortionate prices of some nearby luxury hotels then this place is definitely recommended. The only advice I would provide to the hotel is to consider reducing the 1200THB cost of airport transfer to something more reasonable.
