I stayed her prior to trip to Samui,and was satisfied enough to return prior to trip to north thailand.As other reviewers express,convienant and great value hotel,large,clean comfortable rooms and excellant staff,always helpful,good selection at breakfast and good pool,if the heat of Bangkok wants to be avoided,I would use again if passing through Bangkok.And book your stay through sawadee.com,as internet rate much cheaper than 'walk-in' rate.........

We stayed here for 3 nights at the end 0f a 4 week trip. It is a 3 star hotel and cost us 1600baht per night (40euro). We missed breakfast due to sleeping in the first morning and they were good enough to send breakfast up to our room. The buffet which we did make the next morning was good with plenty to choose from.The hotel has a nice pool area which is good for a 3 star hotel Free tuc-tucs take you to and from Ko San road which is 5 min's away. Internet is available. No bars or restaurants close by, you would have to get a taxi or tuc-tuc. Great location...

I booked 2 nights at Hotel De Moc through Asiarooms.com after reading reviews through Tripadvisor. It is a simple, clean but older hotel in the Banglampu area that was very affordable.

Pros: The staff was helpful and accommodating. I was worried about them holding my room since I arrived at the hotel at 2am but that was not a problem. I got a Thai massage and my mother got a foot massage at the hotel. There is a small massage salon just off of the lobby. Also, they also have slower but free internet access in the lobby. Just ask the front desk persons to log you into the computers.

Cons: My particular room was right next to an on-ramp/off-ramp so it was quite loud. Also, the walls are a bit thin but considering what I was looking for was a clean and simple place to stay for a good price I cannot complain. Although the massage was good, I wouldn't recommend getting a manicure because the lighting was not good so the person had squint while applying the polish. However, this should be less of a problem if scheduling a manicure during the day.

In general the hotel is good value - if you are a smoker that don't mind the air conditioned reeking with the smoky smell!

As a NON-SMOKER, I suffered the whole stay there - can't have any sleep and resorted to opening the window!

Well, BAD idea - mosquitoes are plenty; in fact so many that I start wondering whether the hotel has done any checks to clean up their surroundings?

Since I can't sleep, I have decided to take a hot shower - well, again it is not possible; no matter how I adjust the tap, it is still cold water, the best I can get is lurk warm water.

Just bring oxygen mask (if you are non-smoker), plenty of insect repellent, and prepared not to shower for days (or in the afternoon), if you are planning to stay in this hotel.
