As a first time visitor to Bangkok for a business conference, I was impressed with the level of service and the attention to detail this hotel provides to business and leisure travellers alike.
The facilities provided often meant that you did not have to venture far from the hotel to satisfy any needs or requirements. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, I was unable to take advantage of the beautiful spa adjacent to the main lobby, but would urge future guests to set aside time for what appeared to be complete decadence. In reference to decadence, a delightful cafe offering desserts, ice-cream and truly memorable chocolate creations is a must for all visitors.' Flow' restaurant which spills out onto the river, provided some spectacular dining options, regardless of what time of day you wish to dine. there is a nice blend of options to cater for all tastes, and the dessert buffet was an object of desire for those of us that appreciate the 'sweeter' things in life !! A must see for all guests, is 'the beach'(level 4), where staying cool by the pool is a necessity in the stifling heat of Bangkok. Also, level 31 cocktail bar, not only provides 360 degree views, but sumptuous cocktails and some seriously chilled out jazz. To compliment all of these wonderful experiences, the accommodation offers guests a very high level of quality. The rooms, for the most, provide a great view, are clean, comfortable, and of a moderate size for two people. The only issue I experienced whilst staying here, was the incredibly difficult time trying to connect to wi-fi in my room. After numerous attempts, I gave up, but believe others had success when the hotel provided a technician to try and fix issue. I also advise for convenience, purchasing a local sim card at the 711 across the road from the hotel to alleviate difficulties with phone connection issues. This seemed to work a treat, and the 711 staff helped us set up and connect. The hotel also provided money exchange options, however, I suggest exchanging at either a bank or shopping centre booth, where the exchange rate offered was much better. I also found the hotel to be quite far away from shopping options, but a 30 minute taxi ride generally gets you to either MBK (highly recommended) and other high end shopping centers. There is a small outdoor market adjacent to hotel, leading out to the river boat ramp, but this seems to service the locals as opposed to tourists. It is a melting pot of smells, sights and sounds, so if you appreciate an out of the ordinary adventure and want to 'soak' up local atmosphere, this is the place to do it. The hotel will organize taxis for you, but one piece of advice, do not think you are being clever ' negotiating' with the driver for a set price (except to airport or further destinations), as metered charges are a better/ cheaper option.
This hotel provided a positive experience and I would choose to stay here again as an option when travelling as a leisure tourist. The courtesy, politeness and friendliness of the Hilton staff created a memorable experience for all.
