My sister and I booked this hotel as we had stayed at the Sawasdee Sukhumvit Inn, and loved it. When we arrived, we discovered that they had given away the Superior Twin that we had reserved and paid for on their own website. We were given a Standard Double instead.
The room and ensuite were tiny. The blankets looked like they hadn't been washed in months, and there was hair all over the sheets and in the bathroom. The bed was lopsided, lumpy and incredibly uncomfortable. Breakfast was not included in the room price like it had been at the Sukhumvit Inn.
When we asked for a refund on the difference between what we booked and what we ended up with, we were met with bewilderment. Eventually in the morning, after speaking with three seperate receptionists, I got to speak with the manager who also didn't seem to know what to do. After standing around in his cramped, hot office for 15 mins, he eventually gave me a refund. The only thing going for this place is that it is close to a few things that backpackers might like, such as Khao San Rd etc.

I booked this Hotel for my wife and kids who are Thai and were arriving at 7am on 11th August, I informed the Hotel they would be arriving at this time and asked if the room would be made available.

My wife arrived and was told she had to wait with the children until 12pm or take a smaller and older dirtier room, she told them she would rather wait.

At 12 pm the hotel said that the room would now not be available until 1pm, and at 1 pm the hotel then told her that the room would not be available until 2pm.

After travelling 14 hours and waiting 6 more hours, you can imagine both she and the kids were very tired, so she told the Hotel that she was going to another hotel, they then refused to give her a refund, even though they had broken there own terms and conditions.

They also told her that they don't like thai people staying in there hotel and she would be better off staying at another hotel.

As you can imagine I am infuriated by this Hotel, my wife and kids are british residents.

I would say unless you are a single guy who is white and does not care what kind of place you stay, give this hotel a wide birth.

There customer service skills are non existant and they have no manners what so ever, they still have not refunded the room price and are not bother to reply to my correspondence.

So for your own sake DO NOT USE SAWASDEE HOTELS under any circustances.

Friendly staff is the only thing this place has going for it! I paid for 2 nights but checked out after one.
Probably the most uncomfortable sleep i have ever had in Thailand. The air con unit might as well have not been there, because it threw out air hotter than was in the room already. Informed the staff about this, they fiddled with the control and said it would be cool shortly. Yeah right.
Bathroom was smaller than any i have seen before, and shower was dangerously wired.
I would hate to be in this place in the event of a fire - its just dangerous.
For the money i guess its good value, but there is surely better to be had.

Of the places we looked at and slept at in Bangkok, this was probably the best value. Very much a backpackers' digs, the rooms were small and very basic and the cleanliness was so-so. However, for 350 baht we got a double bed, private bathroom, satellite TV and aircon. It was quiet too. A good choice for budget travellers.
