“Funky design, but worst service”

Siam@Siam Design Hotel & Spa

This hotel was recommended to us as a freshly refurbished central bangkok hotel. It was our honeymoon. The staff can barely speak english, and hence we had a lot of problems. Firstly we were put in a room with a two single beds (ON OUR HONEYMOON!). Then it was a smoking floor (im an asthmatic). Finally we got a proper room which has bad drainage, which meant stinky room! And the managment had no solution. THey gave us a voucher for the spa, which we couldnt use on the first visit (like we would go again..). The buffet brekkie is really bland as well. Avoid this hotel at all costs!!!

All the reviews are right. I booked to stay here for a couple of nights in March 2008 after reading the reviews on tripadvisor and was very impressed. It is a very cool hotel. Everything is brand new. It is in an amazing location, right on the Skytrain, which is brilliant considering how bad the traffic is.

Everyone was very helpful. The rooms were really lovely - not standard hotel rooms but a modern, young design (think bare concrete style walls), which had clearly required a lot of thought. The pool is also great, though not massive.

We went to have a drink in the Banyan Tree and wouldn't have swapped for the world - it's in the middle of nowhere and really stuffy. I can't recommend Siam @ Siam enough. The only thing I would say is this: it might not appeal to those of an older generation. I am only 25 and would definitely stay here if I came back to Bangkok, but if you're 50+ and expecting a more conventional hotel experience then you might be disappointed!

Also, it only cost us about £67 a night - really unbelievable for the quality.

“Fashionable and good for shopaholics”

This hotel is really fashionable and orange in color. You can't say it is very grand and high class but a slight different from traditional hotels. In Bangkok, we seldom find that large rooms with average prices now.

This hotel is famous for its swimming pool, very relaxing and large enough to be found in Bangkok.

We stayed in the leisure room, which is similar to business room. It is not worth to pay more to upgrade to business room, just read the specification, no difference!

If you are a shopaholic, and going to Bangkok for shopping, this one is for you. It is very near BTS station, supermarket and many shopping malls, just within 10 minutes walking distance. yet I suggest not to walk alone at night back to hotel, the road is dark.

The breakfast is wide ranged, though not as much as Marriott, to an average priced hotel, this is more than good enough.

Please take a look at the pictures uploaded.

Siam @ Siam is absolute a high standard high tier hotel. Staffs are nice and well known in English. They are helpful in anywhere of the hotel. They are aggressive to help us on spot sight seeking and advise us the best transportation under their experience. Price is reasonable although USD is quite weak at the moments however it is a bit expensive if you are a budget traveller. Lobby and check-in counter are in the 11/F however the concierge is still remain at the ground level. Room is not very big or you may say it is small if you compare to those “big name” hotels but it is really “design” and unique. I think it was also design for the ultimate use of the room space (e.g. TV place on the roof of the room but not on the table.) and you won’t feel there is any waste of the space. Like other new developed hotel, open bathroom, but if you need some privacy, you can close the curtain door in order to have a private area. 5-star standard buffet breakfast serve at the dinning room on ground floor, however you may need to wait for a while before you eat as the tables are not really enough. Swimming pool is outdoor in 11/F, small but nice view to the National Stadium. Spa in 10/F and you can have a discount if you stay in the hotel; a small gym room is in the same floor as well. Overall the hotel is very clean and tidy including room and open area (swimming pool, gym room) however the surround area of the hotel is quite dirty. Skytrain station is easy to reach by foot (less than five minutes walk to Stadium Station) and the hotel is nearby some main shopping mall and area of Bangkok. MBK Shopping Mall is just the opposite corner of the Skytrain station above mention and you can also easy to reach other shopping malls by footbridge. I will recommend the travellers to stay in this hotel with no reserve.

“Loved it”

Siam@Siam Design Hotel & Spa

Siam @ Siam has got to be one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. We had a leisure room which was fine - we were lucky enough to have a corner room which gave you an extra window. We were overlooking the stadium aswell as the hotel swimming pool. We arrived very early in the morning at about 6am and was told our room would be ready in an hour ( to our ever grateful surprise ). The staff here are WONDERFUL, they coulen't do enough for you. The breakfast was ordinary but nothing to complain about. The location is excellent, very close to MBK and the little massage shop a few doors down was awesome. I don't recommend booking any tours through the hotel, they are quite expensive. The man running the tour desk in the hotel will tell you that everyone else who organise tours outside this hotel are "gangsters" :) We never had any probelms with taxis, we just asked the front desk to organise this for us and then they would tell the driver where we wanted to go and to "put the metre on ". I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Bangkok
