First of all, this is not a Hilton. it is a budget hotel with good location and great service. In fact it is a beautiful 4 storey hotel. They do not have great facilities but they provides good service especially the front desk.
I stayed for a total 7 nights. Location wise it is about 10-15min walk to Platinum Mall. 10-15min walk basically you won't die. If for some reason you couldn't walk and didn't want to walk, a taxi can be flagged easily.
If you come down from Suvarnabumi Airport, the airport rail is just something like 5 minutes away from the hotel. However if you are coming down from Don Meung Airport, you probably need to take a taxi. A bus can be done, you probably need to walk a bit from the Victory Monument but bear in mind with huge luggage especially heading to a hotel, taxi usually won't turn on the meter and would usually quote you an exorbitant price.
Breakfast is good, there are porridge, soup, rice, noodles, sausages, ham, bread with butter, juices, eggs.... so as you can imagine there is basically no room to complain.
Restaurant are good. In fact the prices on the menu are about the same level as the price outside in a decent restaurant.
Lobby are beautiful and nicely decorated.
Rooms, I believed it is recently refurbished. Doesn't look new to me, but they made an effort to make it look new. Bed wise is good, in fact I enjoy my sleep there compared to the last night I spent in Grand Millennium. And room wise is big. Nobody would be in their right mind to complain.
It is located right down in a small alley, not easily noticeable at first. It is 5 minutes away from the airport rail. About 10-15 minutes away to the BTS, again you won't die from walking. About 10-15minutes walk from Platinum Mall, which is a major shopping area. There are plenty of small vendors along the road and its basically very safe walking there.
Tips:
1) Tuk2 are priced at a premium to taxi these days. They are no longer as cheap as before.
2) Insist to the taxi to turn on the meter, however having said so if you are travelling on big luggages heading towards a hotel in a jammed road, 95% they will squeeze the hell out of you.
3) Unless you are travelling outside bangkok (e.g. airport), the taxi fare complete with jams will never exceeds 200 baht (if they turn on the meter).
