Stayed in Hotel de Bangkok for a brief stay of 2 days during a shopping trip to Bangkok. The friendly staff and the excellent service was what caught my heart. The food was excellent and they offered a wide range of dishes both of Thai style and what matches the client. Excellent value for the price paid.

First of all, this is not a Hilton. it is a budget hotel with good location and great service. In fact it is a beautiful 4 storey hotel. They do not have great facilities but they provides good service especially the front desk.

I stayed for a total 7 nights. Location wise it is about 10-15min walk to Platinum Mall. 10-15min walk basically you won't die. If for some reason you couldn't walk and didn't want to walk, a taxi can be flagged easily.

If you come down from Suvarnabumi Airport, the airport rail is just something like 5 minutes away from the hotel. However if you are coming down from Don Meung Airport, you probably need to take a taxi. A bus can be done, you probably need to walk a bit from the Victory Monument but bear in mind with huge luggage especially heading to a hotel, taxi usually won't turn on the meter and would usually quote you an exorbitant price.

Breakfast is good, there are porridge, soup, rice, noodles, sausages, ham, bread with butter, juices, eggs.... so as you can imagine there is basically no room to complain.

Restaurant are good. In fact the prices on the menu are about the same level as the price outside in a decent restaurant.

Lobby are beautiful and nicely decorated.

Rooms, I believed it is recently refurbished. Doesn't look new to me, but they made an effort to make it look new. Bed wise is good, in fact I enjoy my sleep there compared to the last night I spent in Grand Millennium. And room wise is big. Nobody would be in their right mind to complain.

It is located right down in a small alley, not easily noticeable at first. It is 5 minutes away from the airport rail. About 10-15 minutes away to the BTS, again you won't die from walking. About 10-15minutes walk from Platinum Mall, which is a major shopping area. There are plenty of small vendors along the road and its basically very safe walking there.

Tips:
1) Tuk2 are priced at a premium to taxi these days. They are no longer as cheap as before.
2) Insist to the taxi to turn on the meter, however having said so if you are travelling on big luggages heading towards a hotel in a jammed road, 95% they will squeeze the hell out of you.
3) Unless you are travelling outside bangkok (e.g. airport), the taxi fare complete with jams will never exceeds 200 baht (if they turn on the meter).

I visited Bangkok,Thailand in November 2014 with my husband. We booked the hotel online and they send confirmation letter including the directions to the hote..
It is situated in the Pratunam area which is one of the major shopping areas in Bangkok.
The hotel provide you transport from Swarnabhumi airport for a price but i strongly recommend anyone to take the Airport link railway, which is starting from the basement of Swarnabhumi airport.
The hotel provide the ticketing fees and all other information in their confirmation letter,so you only have to follow the directions. Its very low cost and convenient to use the railway than a taxi as you don't have much luggage when you arrive.
Ones you get off from Ratchaprarop station, you should climb the stairs down, and go onto the main road.Once on the main road, you should walk to your right (Away from Indra square) side about 200m till you find the lane,Ratchaprarop Soi 12,to your right hand side.
Turn to that road and the hotel is about 100m in distance. You will not miss it.
Though the check in time was 2pm,they had the room ready by 12 noon.
They served us with a welcome drink and was very welcoming. The staff understood english to a certain extent ,so there was not any communication problems.
The room was not very spacious, and also it didnot open into outside. The only window we had faced the inside of the hotel.
But the rooms were clean with a double bed,air conditioner,tv, electric kettle and a bathroom with hot water and a bath tub.
They provide breakfast in buffet style everyday since 6.30am. Buffet consists of a variety of European and Thai food, juices and etc.The quality of food is good and the restaurant staff is very good.
The hotel restaurant will provide you with food, for a reasonable price if you order from there A la -carte menu.
The hotel is close to shopping malls in the area,(Palladium shopping mall,Platinum shopping mall and pantip plaza) you can walk within 15 minutes to all the places.Better take a hotel card written in Thai language so you can show it to the taxi drivers,if you choose to come by taxi.
The rooms were cleaned daily by room service.
The hotel staff also take the privilege of calling for taxis for us.
We wanted to go to Dream world once and the receptionist at the hotel kindly arranged it.We paid 2000BHT to her including 1600BHT for the dream world tickets for two people and 400 BHT for the taxi.
Once we went to Dream world, the taxi driver took tickets for us but we somehow understood that he has only paid for a budget ticket(700 BHT) which didnot include certain items in Dream world.
So we had to communicate with the taxi driver to get us the proper ticket and being a fact that they donot understand English much,we had to go through little trouble.
So i recommend you to take only taxi from the hotel and pay for your tickets by yourself without waiting for the hotel to arrange it.
Rooms had free WiFi.
Other than that ,there were no other problems ,and i recommend all of you to have a pleasant stay!!!!!

Room tip: Ask for a room with a window opening outside.

The hotel name is not known by taxi drivers so take a business card with you! Rooms were nice and clean and location was okay. Cost about 180 baht ($7AUD) to the airport. When I came in from Bangkok airport to the hotel they charged me 800 ($28AUD) baht! Got ripped off so bad- but maybe they have extra airport fees or something. Get a 'metered taxi' when you are travelling around so cheap. The reception lady looked like she hated life, and the breakfast was okay but cheap :) Really good price for the room so 5 stars.

The rooms are clean, the staff are nice and helpful. Accessible to train station, shops and market. Although not so near a Catholic Church. I like the set up of some of their rooms, 2 rooms could be connected by opening the doors between the rooms.

Room tip: Make sure you get an outward facing balcony room. The rooms on the right side of the building are not so good because of the noise and warm air form the building beside it.
