We stayed at the Centara Villas for three nights, having previously visited Central Samui Village and found this hotel to be even nicer! The tropical bathrooms were amazing and awaking each morning to the sound of cicadas and unusual birdsong was lovely. Yes, there are lots of steps down to the beach, but it is well worth the effort as there is a lovely little restaurant called 'Kais' where the food is excellent and the owners very friendly. The walk back to the hotel room at night was lit by fireflies glowing which somehow made climbing up the steps more than worthwhile! I would thoroughly recommend it.

I stayed here with my daughter and her boyfriend in late April. for two weeks. We were greeted after our long journey with refreshing coconut milk and were quickly shown to our rooms. These were in wooden cottages amongst the treetops and were absolutely delightful. Hugh beds, wonderful soft pillows in abundance, and bathrooms open to the sky.

This is NOT a big chain hotel - if you want 24 hour bars and entertainment go somewhere else. What you get here is very special and very personalised. The location is ideal ( the quiet end of Karon Beach but withing five minutes drive of Patong ) The beach is amazing and unspoilt and although there are a lot of steps the grounds are beautifully maintained and very private. The staff - particularily in the bar were brilliant and the chef cooked fish we had caught ourselves for no extra charge.

Beware there ARE a lot of mozzies so go prepared for that - The spa was very good but would have been even better for some mosquito coils - we couyldn't really relax because we were being bitten!!

We loved our stay here and would certainly recommend it to friends and family and would definately return if we went back to Phuket.

Booked to stay here for 4 nights over Songkran as we wanted to be central to Karon Resort but we were a good 30min walk away on a busy main road so had to get taxi every night which cost 200baht regardless. Lots of steps within the grounds as its set in the hillside overlooking Karon Beach and the views and sunlight are blocked by the abundance of tree branches but was reasonable enough for what we needed. 2 pools, very clean and pleasant. Beach can be accessed via hillside walkway but only during the day, nightime is too steep and dark, not ideal for anyone with walking difficulties. Rooms are standard enough, clean, pleasant with really large bathrooms. Staff are friendly and helpful and breakfast was a good mix of west and thai dishes. All in all, if you don't want too rustic and can bare the hundreds of steps, it's a good enough hotel.

We stayed at the Centara villa for 10 nights and we loved it. Private Villa's in a rainforest environment made for a peaceful , relaxing escape. I have stayed in patong before and much prefer the quietness of Karon Beach. This resort is on a hill and has many steps leading to the pool or upto the lobby/restaraunt area, however I am far from fit and I managed it fine. Although somedays because it was so hot i called for the mini car to pick us up to take us around the resort which was no problem. The pools were not huge (like other resorts in phuket) but we found the size of them to be perfect and could pretty much always get a lounge. The beach was a 5 minute walk and if you want a cheap lunch go to Kai's restaraunt on the beach.
We had dinner at the cliff restaraunt a few times and enjoyed it alot. My boyfriend is a chef and he couldnt fault the quality of the food. We attended the seafood bbq night which was fantastic. I found the staff to be very helpful and much obliging. One of us had a slight accident (which we thought nothing of) however the staff were so wonderful of it and gave us a nice bunch of flowers and a letter of apology and a free voucher for dinner and drinks one night.
It is quite easy to get a tuk tuk, taxi or use the resorts free shuttle bus service to get to patong beach, or karon beach. I found Karon Beach cheaper for shopping and also not as crowded as Patong. It was much more civilised.
I would stay here again in a flash.
