We stayed in the Lao Plaza for two nights. Its like many other large city hotels, howver the staff were good and the location is excellent. Rooms are a good size with all the usual amenities - tea and coffee, bathroom accessories etc. If you head for the fountain - a few minutes walk form the hotel you can find plenty of good restaurants and the city sights are all within easy distance plus its not far from the airport. Drinks etc as you would expect from a city hotel are expensive and if you are that way inclined there is a karoke bar in the basement! Breakfast was excellent and there is a very nice pool on the 2nd floor with plenty of loungers if you need a break. A good location for a few days in the city.

I stayed at the Laos Plaza hotel in October this year.

The hotel location is central, with some great restaurants close by.

It's a busy place with lots of high-end tour groups and overseas dignitaries coming through.

The gym and pool is excellent, and the rooms are well sized. Two free bottles of water are provided every day.

Breakfast is the usual combination of fruit, juice, asian fare, hot cooked breakfast and some pastries and breads.

The hotel offers great service and comfortable beds.

In each room is a safe, robe, desk, toiletries, etc., etc.

Staying at this place depends on what you're after. If you want a good business hotel with a pool - this is the place. But, if you want the feel of an authentic Asian place with nice dark wood and sanded floors, look again.

After I have stayed in 4 other hotel in Vientiane, finally I found the best hotel in the town. All the staff were very helpful and proffessional. All the facilities are up to international standard what I need. During 4 nights stay at the hotel, I enjoyed internet communication in my room and also at business center a secretary helped me for my typing English document. For my breakfast, variety of food such as European, American, Asian was just nice for my 4 days. In the evening, I tried Lao massage where I refreshed myself totally. It costed only US $ 20 for two hours.
Duty managers were always available for help round the clock and they helped me a lot! This is the best hotel in Vientiane where I have just paid only at US $ 100 per night. How great experience I had! I will recommend anybody who visit Vientiane should stay there without disappointment.

I am writing to tell you that the Lao Plaza is certainly one of the best hotel in this region. During my stay, I saw so many VIPs from ASEAN countries where they stayed. I learnt that most of dignities stay in this hotel where clean rooms and best service are provided. One of waiter told me that they trained in Bangkok and Singapore. Their standard is high as other capital cities. At Coffee Shop, I found so many gold medals won by their chef at international culinary competion oversea. It was my big surprise to know that Lao PDR has such a caribre hotel.
