The hotel was conveniently located from all the major attractions of Sultanahmet, as its situated right of the Hippodrome on a quiet street. There is plenty to see and do in the area (museums, famous buildings, and bazzars) and everything was walking distance from the hotel. Our room was quite large and very neat with a big bathroom and tub---amenities included AC, a mini bar, and TV. The hotel included a charming garden on the site of what was an old Byzantium household where we ate a Turkish breakfast every morning, and also a lovely roof-top terrace with great vistas of the Marmara sea (not to be missed at sunset!). The staff was incredibly helpful and so friendly that with everything together at the end of each day it felt as if we were coming home. I would highly reccomend this hotel while exploring Istanbul!

I'm Karina from Argentina. I was there for a week at the beginning of sept. In the middle of my stay I had no problem to change my room from a single to a double because a friend came for some days.
The rooms are clean, nicely decorated and very comfortable with it's facilities as AA and TV. The bathrooms are modern and big. The whole hotel is reformed to brand new.
You have breakfast in the patio. You could hear the birds singing in the morning and then with just 2' walk you was at the Hipodrome.
The people working in the hotel they are just GREAT. So sympathetic and really nice. Thank you very much to each of you.
I felt so good at this Hotel that before getting back home, at endo of sept I made a reservation again and was lucking to get a room.
Cok Cok tesekkur ederim!!!!!
Gorusuruz!!!!!
Karina (hope to get back again soon.... reserve me another room) :-)

Down a quiet street off the large Hippodrome Square, right in the midst of the old Sultanahmet district, the Stone Hotel was a perfect base for our stay in Istanbul. The rooms were extremely comfortable (especially the bed), spotless, and they felt like a home away from home. Our room, a standard double, had remote-controlled cable TV, a mini-fridge, and a remote-controlled air conditioner too! While we did not have a chance to see the terrace, the garden provided a relaxing place to sit and eat breakfast.

The best part of our stay was the staff. The managers were always courteous, friendly, and very helpful. We needed to make a photocopy and send a fax during our stay, and the staff happily took care of everything for us with a smile. One of the days we were there, the internet was not working in the lobby computer, but this was not a problem because the manager brought us his own laptop to use until it was fixed. We've traveled to several cities in Europe and North America, and this was the nicest place we've stayed on our budget - truly a great deal.
