Stayed here for 2 weeks in September. Had a good holiday and the hotel was fine, but with a few small improvements could be even better.
Travelled with Thomsons and transfer from Izmir was only 45 min. Arrived around 02:00 and check in was very quick. We were originally put in one of the Garden blocks, as the room booked was a garden view. However, the view from the ground floor balcony was of a large metal shed so the next morning the other half asked if we could be moved. The staff were very good and arranged for us to view a room in the main building later that morning. We subsequently moved to the room which was slightly larger and had a view over the mini-golf and the hills. The only problem with the rooms in the main building, as other people have pointed out, is the poor air-con. The air-con in the garden rooms was really good, but I found that you only felt any breeze from the air-con in the main rooms if you slept with your feet at the headboard end and your head was in line with the air-con vents, but even then the room was still warm. The main bar was also uncomfortably hot and few people used that on an evening.
The hotel grounds are well kept and nice to walk around and the pool area was good, with sunbeds available at anytime of day that we went down there.
The main meals are all self service and that includes drinks too. The coffee from the machine at lunch and evening meal was okay, but the morning coffee is served from a boiler and I thought was weak and bland. If you like strong coffee get one from the pool bar after breakfast as the quality is much better. The choice of foods is excellent, and I had a different breakfast each morning for the first 8 days there. Plenty of cereals, fruit, cheeses, meats, yoghurt, etc and freshly made pancakes, omelettes, fried eggs and waffles are all available to order. The choice of salads, pasta & hot food is also good at lunch and dinner and I particularly liked the freshly grilled fish, chicken or lamb (depending on the night). The hotel has 3 other restaurants, Italian, Turkish and seafood. You need to book these at customer relations (10:00 – 12:00) and you can eat in each once per week. We tried the seafood and Italian restaurants during our stay. The menu is set and the quality of food and service was very good. If you have the Italian make sure you don’t have a large lunch as the food is plentiful.
The beach is cleaned every night in front of the hotels and stretches for quite a distance in both directions giving a nice hour or more walk along it and back, although it starts to get a bit untidy once you get well away from the hotels.
The waiting and bar staff are efficient and reception and porter staff very helpful and friendly. The owner and hotel manager could also be found around the building and in the restaurants during mealtimes, and on a number of occasions I noticed that the owner was sat having his meal with the guests which is always a good sign. The animation team work flat out encouraging people to take part in the wide-range of activities and interacting with those guests who are happy to take part or just talk. If you wish to be left alone they are polite and don’t try to force you to take part.
Overall I had a very nice two weeks.
Air conditioning in main building is not very good
