Saturday lunchtime in Jerusalem, and the restaurants that are open are buzzing. Focaccia Bar is no exception - it's packed out and there's a line of hungry people waiting to be accommodated. I booked in advance as we were a party of nine and it took only a few minutes to seat us. If you want a slightly quieter atmosphere ask for a table in the back section of the restaurant, but in any event intimate conversation won't be possible.
The staff are patient and helpful, and were understanding when we asked for spaghetti and pesto which didn't appear on the menu, as the 4 year-old twins couldn't be tempted by anything else. The menu choice is actually very good: minor grumbles were that the hamburger which was requested medium came rare, and the chicken liver dish was rather dry.
Lunch for nine, including main course and dessert was under 800 shekels which (by Israeli standards) is reasonable and I would book again.
