Similar to Billy-a-55, I also stayed in a Crowne Club Room in November 2007. I was quite disappointed that I had gone the extra cost of the club room, as frankly I can't see what i got for it. Sure the room was nicely decorated, with presumably little touches like better class of toiletries, etc, but it was a VERY TINY room - which they all must be, as the rooms on either side of my room WEREN'T club rooms! (Go figure!). They have a postage stamp sized Executive Lounge that isn't on the room floors - it is off to the side of the Business Centre on the opposite hotel and apart from having a coffee machine, is not otherwise open until cocktails and hors d'oevres time at 6pm.
The public spaces of the hotel are good, there are at least three restaurants, a large British pub style bar with live band, and and the usual Bahraini nightclub with resident Eastern European dancers that appeal to visitors coming from less liberal Middle Eastern neighbouring countries.
Service was good, and the location was good and the pool area was quite large although a little lacking in decoration and personality.
All in all I would recommend this as a perfectly adequate hotel, but can't recommend the additional cost of the Crowne Club rooms.
