This beautiful home has spacious, wonderfully decorated, clean bedrooms; the room I stayed in had a wonderful bed which felt like a huge pillow. Owners Chris and Loman are very friendly, quick to answer questions about the area, and allow you to make yourself feel like you are in your own home. I stayed there three nights; the first night I selected a movie to watch (dozens to choose from) and popped myself some popcorn. While I waited for the microwave to finish, Loman came into the dining room to see if I needed anything. He answered questions about the history of the house and past remodeling projects. The second day I was in Atchison, after attending some meetings, I returned to the house to read and relax. I spent quite a bit of time in the living room reading; very comfortable chairs! The first morning I was there Chris served me and two other guests a delicious, huge breakfast in the sunroom. It was a beautiful sunny morning so starting the day in the sunroom with great food set the whole day. My second and third mornings Chris served me in the formal dining room. Great food again! There is a small refrigerator in the dining room where guests can select bottled water and sodas. This house is located on N. 2nd Street just minutes from restaurants, unique, family owned retail stores and Benedictine College. As I was traveling alone, safety was an issue for me. I definately felt very safe in this neighborhood. It was great to have coffee and tea available at 7 a.m. on the second floor just steps away from the bedrooms. There are also packets of instant cocoa and sugar-free cider which you can pour into a coffee cup (enjoy morning or evening), add hot water or go downstairs to heat up in the microwave. In fact I had cider with micro-wave popcorn while I watched a movie the second night I was there. Chris allowed me to look into the other guest rooms as I was the only guest the second and third nights. Good to see other options available as I will be returning with another family member for the up-coming annual Arts Tour the end of April. Tuck U Inn is a great value.
