Stayed here last week. My room was on the 7th floor. The hotel looks a little old and dated, but everything was in good condition. My room was very large, with a balcony. The bathroom was also very large. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the restaurant food was pretty good.
Overall, it was a positive experience. I would stay here again.

I stayed here on 2 occasions in October.( 2 and 3 night stays). The hotel was prepaid by my travel agent. On both occasions I had a room with a good sized balcony and view of the Nile. The rooms were spacious but very shabby compared with other Sheratons I have stayed at. Restaurants were reasonable with good service. Lobby bar service was non existant. Casino was entertaining and there is a small hotel "sports"bar in the same area which provides a good variety of food and drinks.
The hotel is in a poor location across the river from most of the upmarket hotels.Very busy location but virtually no noise in rooms.
This was my first (and last) stay in Cairo. I suspect that there are better hotels than this. The aged decor of the hotel is certainly not up to the normal Sheraton standard.

The rooms are pretty standard and could use some updating esp. the beds....However the hotel offers lots of local color...We got to see a prom and a wedding while we were there which was awesome...Theres a decent little pub and a small casino...It was great for nights we were tired form our busy days sighseeing to attempt the perils of crossing the street to be able to have a drink and play some darts or blackjack...I highly suggest getting a room with a balcony over the nile yeah its loud but I love hearing the sounds of a strage city. I found the staff very friendly. The Lebonese resturant was great and had entertainment with an escellent view of the nile.Sure there are nicer hotels but mixing it up with locals and getting outside your comfort zone is half the fun of traveling

I stayed at the Shearaton Cairo Hotel in Feb this year with my husband and step daughter. Despite all the negative feedback I have read about the hotel, I couldn't find much fault. The only fault I could say (if it could be classed as that) is that the balcony could have done with a repaint.
We arrived late at night and were met with our rep. We were taken to the hotel and the rep booked us in. As we were half board we had missed the restraunt but the room service was affordable and very nice. Our room was spacious despite having 3 beds in it.
The hotel overall is gorgeous, very imposing lobby and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The food was always nice, no matter what time you arrived for breakfast or dinner. The eating times were brilliant 6-11am for breakfast and 7-11pm for tea. The hotel is centrally placed so no long journeys to visit the sites.
All in all a great hotel.
