The hotel is very nice. It's not like the Ritz or anything, but well worth the money - you won't be disapointed.
The rooms weren't as grand as I expected however. The main lobby to the hotel is marble and gold, etc as shown in the picture, but the room was not to this standard. Do not worry though - its still a decent size for a couple, cleanliness is fine and has air con and so on. Hotel staff were ok, but again don't expect Ritz 5* service. I'd say 3 star would be more appropriate - possibly 4 at a sstretch.
What I would seriously advise those going to Egypt is that you do NOT listen to ANY locals. They see you as walking money bags and will lie and cheat their way into your wallet. Don't get fooled at all - even if they show you ID cards, etc. NOTHING is for free in Egypt. EVERYTHING must be tipped - even if a local helps you out and takes a picture of you! One minute the price is say £5 for two people, the next it is each. Then it goes up and up - confirm price first and stick to it - do NOT let locals tell you what to do or you'll have an awful holiday (i.e: "come this way my friend, my brother has nice shop you want to buy girlfriend something nice")
The hotel food is good. It's a large buffet although you will have to pay for drinks. Average drink cost around £2 (expensive for Egypt). Swimming pool is great and friendly atmosphere. It's not that busy compaired too some hotels and at night it is very relaxing with fountain and cocktails in the warm fuzzy air of Giza.
The hotel itself is located on a main road, but the rooms are set way back, so you cannot see or hear it. The surroundings are a very well maintained gardens between rooms including palm tree's.
The hotel is about 10 minutes taxi drive from the pyramids, although just over 30 mins from central Cairo.
People in the hotel are from all different countries, speaking all languages. Most tourists at hotel are middle aged and very few children (wouldn't recommend having kids there as little to do).
