We really had a wonderful stay at the Lotus. Excellent location. Just beside the Egyptian Museum and the river Nile. In the city centre. Heart of the shopping area, the restaurants and theatres. Just beside the underground station (Metro). Has a great family atmosphere. The staff were always very kind and helpful.
The hotel is very clean and well taken of.
If I am ever back in Cairo I will always only stay at the Lotus Hotel.

I went to the Lotus at the end of March after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor. The reviews were spot on. Yes it is basic but it is excellent value for money (£10 per night) for the convienent location and the friendliness of the staff. Plan your own travel don't necessarily rely on the reception staff, having said that they are quite helpful.

I have stayed at the Lotus Hotel 4 times, 2002,2003,2004, and June 2005.
The Lotus is a basic hotel, very clean, very friendly staff at a very fair price.
I would reccomend it. It;'s location is ideal, being central to the River Nile. The Egyptian Museum is close by, and the metro station is only 5 minute walk away.

We where treated like family,shown Cairo and had a wonderful time.
Excellent value for money and a lovely atmosphere.
Will be back next year with new baby!!!
