Although classed as a 4 star we were a little disappointed in the general standard. That said, the staff were all very helpful, courteous and friendly. We called ahead and a limo pickup was organised, due to long delays at passport control - visa check etc for all travellers we expected limo to have gone, but were pleasantly suprised that the driver waited over one hour for us. Be advised before joining queue at passport check make sure you purchase visa from Bank Misr next to Passport control 90 L.E. each (about £9.00)

Main areas of hotel were spotless, rooms could do with some TLC and there was no tea/coffee in room. Room service cheap and quick and breakfast was from 7am - 11am, eat as much as you want. If you need quiet ask for room at back, front rooms are very noisy with traffic and Mosque call to prayers. Would recommend for low cost hassle free base to visit Cairo and Pyramids. Negotiate price for trip before entering one of the many taxis, or ask reception what the expected cost of the taxi would be. Reception can also organise taxis or trips for you.

“A perfect base”

The hotel was clean and comfortable and we had wonderful views of the
pyramids from our 8th floor rooms. The views from the panoramic restaurant/terrace are spectacular and we found the meals there to be very good and reasonably priced.

The front desk staff are extremely helpful and nothing is too much trouble. They are able to arrange reasonably priced air conditioned cars for trips out (Saqqara is unmissable)

Although it took longer than we expected to get into the centre of Cairo, this was more than made up by the experience of the local taxis, which are a joy to behold and an unexpected source of great fun.

Be aware that there is a mosque next door and the hotel is on the main pyramids road, so the rooms at the front of the hotel are noisy.
However, this was all part of the experience for us. The hotel is also better known as the Gawharet Al Ahram Hotel, the taxi drivers were a little confused by the Husa Pyramids name.

This will be our hotel of choice next time we visit Cairo.

When we arrived at the Husa Hotel in Giza, we were really disappointed. It was poorly decorated and appeared a little 'shabby'. However once we settled in we found the spacious rooms, restaurant, location and all the staff including those who organise the tours compensated for the poor decor.

It is a basic hotel, but for the price we paid, it was definately value for money. It's in a great location, near the pyramids and there's no hassle from the shops, you can sample 'normal' egyptian life. I would recommend this hotel for a budget holiday and would stay here again.

Some advice, be prepared for the hassle at the pyramids it's quite intimidating and irritating.

“Mixed feelings”

The first room we stayed in was quite smelly, it didnt feel as though the duvet had been washed but otherwise we had a view of the 3 pyramids from our 7th floor (including a minaret in the middle of the biggest pyramid). The hotel was being re-decorated so we were moved to the 4th floor which didn't have a view, but the room was ok. It was clean. The saving grace is the Panorama Restaurant on the rooftop, it was absolutely amazing, lovely food at a reasonable price and made everything else worthwhile! An uninterrupted, perfect view of the Pyramids.
